100,000 Pre phones sold so far

According to J.P. Morgan analyst Paul Coster, Palm and Sprint have managed to sell 100,000 Palm Pre phones in the first week since the phone’s launch. Coster estimated that 50,000 phones were moved during the launch weekend and that “channel checks conducted Thursday, the 11th, suggest shipments to Sprint stores have averaged about 10-15 units every 2 days, implying about 36K-55K units have shipped by Saturday (1,00 stores, three shipments of 10-15 units).” Coster also stated that RadioShack’s inventory of Pre phones has been fully replenished, but Best Buy stores have not received any new units. These statements jive with early reports that the Palm Pre launch was the biggest and most successful that Sprint has ever seen.
