AT&T Palm Pre Plus goes on sale for $49.99 at Radioshack 16

After recently discontinuing sales of the Sprint Palm Pre, Radioshack's shelves will be stocked once more with a webOS powered device with the AT&T Palm Pre Plus. The company has started sales of the device for at the very reasonable price of $49.99 with a new 2-year contract, both online though radioshackwireless.com and through its retail locations nationwide. Shipping is free when ordered online, and most stores we called (in the Portland Metro area, for what it's worth) either had stock of the phone or could quickly procure them.

I got a touchstone this weekend @ The Shack for $15.95. I wonder if firesale on Palm accessories will stop now that they have a webOS device again. It was kinda sad that the don't carry Sprint Pre Minus anymore.
I got an ever better deal. Touch Stone and a back for less than 20.00. Even more important will RS staff start talking positive about Web OS again?
ya let me know when Canada will get a plus GSM phone. So sick of CDMA (and Bell)
Sprint still charges $149 for the regular Pre.
Ya, something's wrong with this picture. Get it together sprint.
So we got this whole song and dance routine about phone's lifecycles and that this was normal to get rid of the Sprint Pre and they clearance everything out. Now they are carrying ATT's Pre? I wonder if ATT had ordered so many that it needs help moving them or if they have a genuine interest in Webos as a alternative to Blackberry.
WTF. I guess RS saw the writing on the wall from Sprint about the Pre and dropped it as fast as they could so they would not be left holding a ton in inventory.
Guess if you are on Sprint -- time to think about switching carriers to stick with webOS, or time to start thinking about a new OS :-(
There is no reason at this point to believe that Sprint will not offer any new webOS phones in the future. I believe there is still more webOS users on Sprint as compared to any other carrier.
yeah, many of those early (beta tester)Sprint Pre owners have abandon the Pre for other devices, at least the smart ones did!
remember, Sprint charges much less for their plans. I get free navigation that works & unlimited data plans. Does AT&T & Verizon offer that?
Doesn't make sense what radio shack did; dumping all Palm pre accessories at cost only to begin offering the AT&T Palm Pre Plus. All the accessories are the same. Touchstones, chargers, screen protectors, Touchstone backs I could understand, the Plus comes with it, but the Pixi Touchstone backs, hmmmmmm
They either get their accessories from the specific carrier whose device they are offering at the time (Sprint Pre/Pixi, or AT&T) instead of from the OEM's (in this case Palm), or their management is a bunch of dufasses.
If it's the carrier who supplies RS with the accessories instead of purchasing the stuff directly from Palm, that would explain why their prices are higher for everything, because there's an extra middleman between them and the manufacturer. I really find that hard to believe, and think dumping Palm accessories only to be restocking the same stuff for a similar device offered by a different carrier and that the chain's high prices must be due to management dufasses and corporate greed.
TTB :)
I think it makes sense. If you are Radio Shack, do you want to sell the Sprint Pre @ 149 or the ATT Pre Plus for 49? You have no chance moving the former, I got to tell you!
I was referring to the discontinuation of Palm Pre/Pixi accessories by RS when they announced the discontinuation of Sprint Pre/Pixi device sales. My point being, the decision to get rid of their Palm accessories, selling everything at cost doesn't make sense UNLESS RS buy's their accessories from the carriers instead of directly from Palm which would explain the chains tendency to overprice. The other possibility is RS is run by duffass management folks who don't know their heads from a hole in the ground who decided to dump all Palm accessories at cost, while announcing discontinuation sales of Palm products before they took a look at looking at AT&T's coming release schedule for the Pre/Pixi plus models. Those were announced by AT&T March 23rd, and RS announced they were no longer carrying Palm products in early April. They sold a lot of accessories with no profit, and will be restocking most of the same items again to compliment their AT&T branded Palm devices.
Not that I'm complaining, I got several TS's, chargers, screen protectors, and Pixi backs at bargain basement prices. Can I get away with saying dufass management one more time before signing off ....... :)
paid 29 bucks for my plus, in fact I bought 4 of them and I'm glad I did, love the os.
letstalk.com is still offering the Sprint Palm Pre for $44.99
this is hilarious. rs blow out on clearance all of the Palm acessories that I bought up, a couple touch stones too. and now they are selling the phone LOL. this is great! :) Where can I get some more discounted stuff?
