AT&T webOS 3.0 development webcast on Thursday to include Veer giveaway 15
It’s strange how AT&T works sometimes. The second largest (and pending regulatory approval, soon-to-be largest) cellular carrier announced a month ago that they were going to have a webOS 3.0 development webcast on Thursday, May 12th. Right now, the HP TouchPad is the only device we’ve seen running webOS 3.0, and that device has yet to see an official announcement of a 3G-enabled model, even though it’s all but assured one will be released eventually. So how should AT&T celebrate their webOS 3.0 development webcast? By giving away a webOS 2.1.2-powered HP Veer, you know, the one that they actually do have on AT&T right now (or at least soon).
As a reminder, the webcast is going down on the 12th from 1:00-2:00 PM Eastern Time, and will feature the HP webOS Developer Relation Team’s Josh Marinacci. The presentation is aimed at beginner and intermediate developers, and being that it’s a webOS 3.0 webcast, you can be assured it will be filled with all sorts of Enyo-y goodness. If you’re the type that’s interested, head on down to the source link below to register.

i know what ill be doing at 1:05 on the 12.
taking a nap.
maybe when i wake up, i would have won a phone.
One Veer give away as opposed to Google's I/O 5000 give away of tabs
I'm registered! Sure hope something great is in store... but NOT holding my breath :-/
Damn, i registered but missread the artcle ! They are giving away only 1 ???? I dont mean to be rude but what the **** ???
They always just give away one device and its not exactly a veer, its always the att phone of your choice. I won once and they let you choose.
Im interested in developing educational apps for webos (im a teacher) but giving away just one when other companies give every attendee one is just poor.
You're not a developer. You are thinking about developing apps but you want to get a free phone? Really?
Well since I live in Japan and i recently got a Palm pixi for my wife to use when shes in America on business - Ive been loving the phone ! Im thinking about becoming a developer for webos (but I dont know if it will be released in Japan) especially educational apps eg: english language learning. I have made apps for English schools on iOS.
After reading in depth, I would like to have a new phone to test my apps on.
So The problem is that in Japan, the iphone is really cheap on Softbank almost free so Is it worth me developing apps on it if they dont sell webOS here.
So in answering your question Ulairi, since my market may be small, I would like a free phone from ATT.
Wait, is it one device for each participant, or one device which will be given to someone?
By giving away a webOS - i think just one otherwiseit would have stated to each person
For those that want to know the way it usually works is, after every webinar, att puts up a slide with a question about what was discussed during the webinar or a general programming question usually something easy. Then they put up an email and say email the answer to blank. You email them the answer and they select usually ONE person to be the winner.
When you win, the att rep asks you what att phone you'd like to recieve and they ship it out right away. i got my device within a week of winning. Their pretty quick about it. but yeah its not one for everyonet hat attends
Thanks, useful info. I'd love a Veer...
If that's the case, I would just take the iphone over the veer and sell it on ebay. iphone has higher resell value :)
I don't even want the veer. You can keep it HP.
Let me know when you do a giveaway for a CDMA Pre 3, slate phone or touchpad.
Where do you register?
