Music Player Remix dropdownMusic Player (Remix), by Hedami, is a significant upgrade over the stock music play for either webOS phones or the TouchPad. While the TouchPad player has some additional features, such as the ability to create playlists, Music Player (Remix) has a lot more. We already described how you can add a shortcut for your favorite albums right to your App Launcher, but you can also set shortcuts for playlists, flylists, autolists, shuffle all, and auto resume.

  • To add a flylist or playlist shortcut, tap on the respective option on the navigation bar on the right-side of the screen, choose your flylist or playlist, and then swipe-down from the top-left of the screen to access the Application dropdown menu and select the "Create Flylist Shortcut…" or "Create Playlist Shortcut…" option
  • To add an autolist shortcut, tap on the "Autolists" option on the navigation bar on the right-side of the screen, choose your desired Autolist from the available options but before you choose the number of songs to include in the autolist, swipe-down from the top-left of the screen to access the Application dropdown menu and select the "Create [Autolist] Shortcut…", where [Autolist] will be replaced with the list you chose.
  • To add a "Shuffle All" or "Auto Resume" shortcut, go to the Music Player (Remix) homescreen and then swipe-down from the top-left of the screen to access the Application dropdown menu. There will be an option for "Create Launcher Shortcuts" option that expands to give you one of those two options (see screenshot).

So, you can now create a shortcut for albums, playlists, flylists, autolists, shuffle all, and auto resume. But what if you just want to create a shortcut for one specific song? The easiest way to do that would be to create a flylist with just that one song and then add a shortcut for that flylist. Note that when you use the homebrew Save/Restore app to save your App Launcher settings, these icons are able to be saved and restored.

Music Player (Remix) is available in the webOS App Catalog for $3.99 and is compatible with all webOS devices running webOS 2.0 or higher

Thanks for posting this feature of Music Player (Remix)!  For anyone who wants to see a live demo of the feature, you can check out this video I made:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yaJh2pPvEg

Along the same lines, you can quickly launch any playlist, flylist, autolist, faves list, shuffle all, or resume play by using a Just Type Quick Action called "Load Playlist" as demo'd here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cICgpvkQmis
