Angry Birds bonus: new levels in the free sampler 26
There's no question that Rovio Mobile's Angry Birds is a huge (and deserving) hit on webOS, especially since 1.4.5 was rolled out by the last few straggler carriers and Pixi users got in on the action. Rovio Mobile has made it even better not only for new customers, but even for those of us who have already purchased the app: according to an e-mail ad sent out by Rovio this morning, "The Lite version contains 9 levels that are not included in the full game - if you already finished the full game, there's more to play in the Lite version!"
Well? What are you waiting for? Go get Angry Birds Lite for Pre or Pixi in the App Catalog, and start flattening those pigs in new and creative ways!

Wrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaacccccccccccckkkkkkkkkk!
So they're aiming to win or at least place in both the free and paid for hot apps program. Smart move.
give that up already. No one will buy that idea here either.
speak for yourself...
This is my 1 and only time suggesting a developer was attempting to take 2 golds home. I applaud them if this is an intentional strategy.
A better conspiracy theory would be to say they are splitting the winning with P|C authors for advertising the game more often than any other app. Something I do not believe is the case as I have played Angry Birds and think it's the best game I've played in WebOS.
If only you'd taken the time it took to spin this theory to instead liok at the promotional guidelines that state you can only one 1 of the prizes in the 100,000 or 50,000 tier - so you cannot win in both the free or paid (or the tier 1 and tier 2).
Why would I take the time. This isn't even a forum and I have 0 apps in the catalog. Meaning the actual contest is less than dirt to me. Thanks for taking the time to explain why this wouldn't work though.
So having 0 app wasn't enough of a deterrent to throw the theory out, but was enough of a deterrent to find any evidence to support it? i see...
Because all theory's require evidence. Right...
Btw, welcome to the internet.
If you don't want to sound like a dumbass troll, yeah. But I see you're cool with that.
Here We Go Again
I'll tell you what I'm waiting for. ATT to release 1.4.5 for my pixi!
Still no Angry Birds - or any other app whatsoever - here in Finland...
15 stages cleared and game deleted....next!
What chilin said :)
Where's our v1.4 with new 2 new world levels.
A bit ridiculous...why not just provide them to those that paid for the app vs having two versions installed?
agreed, I'd definitely prefer that they update the paid version. I hate having unnecessary apps installed. I'd also feel a lot better about the value of my $2.
I agree they only after more money! They got millions from iphone and ipod users at $.99 and is charging us $1.99 for the app which there ripping us off because the iphone versions is better to aim (so I heard) . They getting thousands of bucks for the app alone and there going to win the hot apps.. So they want to win it in both. Rovio just greedy
or either they made a free version so people can try before they buy..
I have the iTouch and was playing Angry Birds on it last night... It is a little easier to aim with it being it is on a slightly bigger screen... I am also thinking that if I buy it, it will be the .99 one on iTunes rather than Palm, but we'll see... I do feel like I should support HPalm, but who knows... Might not buy either...lol
You will soon find that Angry Birds is easily the most frequently updated game. Rovio could easily make new levels for iPhone and iPad in-app purchases, but they don't! So please explain just how they are greedy!
There a far, far more iPhone and iPads in consumer's hands. Its economy of scale... More potential customers, lower price. Less potential customers? Slightly higher price.
It's a great sign that Rovio chose to include webOS! They have millions of users on iPhone/iPad/touch and Android. They now have a handful more potential customers, when put into perspective. They are also, most likely, banking on the future for when the masses adopt webOS under new products.
Keep this mind before attacking a great developer (No. I am in no way linked to Rovio other than being a customer on iPhone, Android and iPad.
I have no issues aiming whatsoever in angry birds...
Perhaps it's because I have the reduce drag radius to 15px patch........
If you haven't already switched to a reduced drag radius I -highly- recommend the at least 15px (seems to be the sweet spot for me).
Much more accurate, you can fast foward and rewind a video accurately for example. Might help in angry birds if I understand the way the pre touchscreen works correctly....
they should update the paid version first imo, but nothing wrong with a free lite version if they didn't include the levels paying customers have (yet) to play on the full version
I don't know, maybe there's something wrong with me. I just don't understand all the raving about Angry Birds. To me, it just seems silly & boring. Aim a bird in a slingshot at some pigs? Yipee!
Some of it is hype, but a lot of it is polish. It's got a charming aesthetic, that "easy to learn/hard to master" factor, and is formatted perfectly for the mobile platform. The perfect kind of game to pick up and play during a short period of downtime, beat a level, then move on with your day.
Not unlike Paratrooper, in that regard.
just terrible.
Not surprised at all.
