Angry Birds for Pixi now available; Update: Lite versions also available 33

While it's a little unfortunate that it needs a separate entry from Angry Birds for the Palm Pre, Pixi and Pixi Plus owners should be gratified to know that they can now sling avians with the rest of us now that Angry Birds for Pixi has dropped. Check out our first-look video (Running on the Pre) after the break.
Of course, you'll need webOS 1.4.5 to get it, which means that AT&T Palm Pixi Plus owners are left out of the action. We still love you, GSM Pixi folks, even if your carrier doesn't.
Update: Looking to get your Angry Birds on but can't stomach the $1.99 asking price (and really, really?), Rovio has also released Angry Birds Lite for Pre and Angry Birds Lite for Pixi.

I just tried downloading this on my Verizon Pixi Plus but I get the error: "This is not a valid webOS application". Is anyone else seeing this?

I have a Sprint Pre and EVERY application is showing it isn't a Web OS application. Sounds like a problem with the Palm store.
Wait an hour or so for the data to propagate.

Angry Birds Lite is finally downloading.
there is also a lite version for those who doubt the birds, which I do not recommend doubting the birds
ouch! did you feel that too? That was the salt being rubbed into my att pixi's 1.4.3 wound. Where's the continued #releasemy145 support from the rest of the palm community? There is only a few ppl still pestering @attcustomercare :(
So when will we get the extra levels the iPhone users have on our Palm phones?

I'm a little dissapointed myself. My brother got Angry Birds on his Ipod after playing it on my Pre. He got it for 50% less than I did and has additional levels that I do not. Still a great game though.
guys, I'm sure the extra levels will be part of a future upgrade.. Don't worry.

Just cause most everyone else likes the game doesn't mean I will. I'd rather try out a game first than just waste money. I'll try the lite version, than if I like it I'll buy it.

I was hoping for a lite version so I could try out the game. Besides the lite version is free they might end up winning the hot apps with the free version now.
Having a Lite version is the webOS equivalent of trial periods on PalmOS and desktop software. Every app, even those that only charge a buck, can benefit from having a lite version, provided the Lite versin is appropriately gimped and is worth the Dev's time in relation to increased sales.
That being said, Angry Birds for just 2 bucks is a steal. Still, kudos to Rovio for providing a lite version.
Question: Does "lite" now its own separate meaning apart from "light"?

a bigger problem is, that the last time i tried i still could not use my creditcard because i'm from switzerland...
No Angry Birds on my Pre's App Catalog.
And zero apps in total...
So, the game of Finnish origin not available for Finnish Pre users. Is that fair?

My wife and kids are now very happy! They've been playing this on my Droid 2 and love it. I emailed the developer about getting it for my wifes Pixi and they said "soon", but I didn't think it would be that soon. Well done!

Yeah playing angry birds on the pres smallish screen is a stretch as it is, it's probably TERRIBLE on the pixi

In all the excitement of this game coming to the PIXI PLUS I downloaded the lite version.. then this morning I read this article and thought how sad am I? REALLY? I can't afford a buck 99? What a cheap A** I was. We need to support developers so they continue to create cool games like "Angry Birds". So I gotta go and make sure that I get the full version. Thanks Rovio for a great game....
