Those looking to save some scratch on new apps for their TouchPad and Pre should pay attention. For TouchPad owners, Gameloft has slashed the App Catalog price of their games Assassin's Creed - Altaïr's Chronicles HD and Asphalt 6: Adrenaline HD by a few dollars, bringing the high-quality big screen games down to an incredibly reasonable $0.99 each. Owners of a webOS 2.x-running Pre 2 or Pre3 should take a look at Picsel's Smart Office for their smartphones, which has been reduced by 50% to $4.99 - that gets you full document, spreadsheet, and presentation editing not available from any other app on webOS phones. We don't know how long these discounts are going to last, so if you haven't already, go ahead and buy your webOS device an early Christmas present.

good deals
Asphalt is gorgeous on the TP & an outstanding racing car game
BUT
accelerometer steering control worked fine before the most recent upgrade
now you have to use the virtual steering wheel if you hope to play this game
disappointed that Smart Office isn't available for the Veer
works beautifully on the TouchPad

It was worth it being an early adopter for Picsel on phones. Truly a great app. It should win app of the year.

I wish Gameloft would remember their phone users, though.

No Asphalt6 available in New Zealand catalog. What on earth is the problem to NOT upload to New Zealand? We really can buy and like to buy apps in New Zealand.

I would suggest sending an e-mail/help request to gameloft to remind them of their international users.

The other possibility is their license doesn't cover specific countries. Not sure if they own complete rights to any of these games or if they are licensed, just possible speculation, but it never hurts to ask.

At this price, I didn't hesitate a second to get Smart Office. Looks impressing, in my opinion, even if I still believe document editing is a joke on an screen and keyboard that fit in the palm.

What a day for my Pre 3: Just finished downloading the webOS 2.2.4 3175 OTA update, plus this, plus the 11.4 version of NDrive awaiting install...

Wasn't this supposed to be im-po-ssi-ble?

F'ers. Bought this at full price 2 days ago. once again scammed and ripped off by webOS!!!

Now installing Android as duel boot on touchpad... looking to sell Pre2 as I'm tired of HP's bs when it comes to this third rate mobile OS.

Ugh. A6 won't 'finish' installing. I've restarted inorder to remove. 2nd Download same problem. Stock TP.

[edit] Third install took 20 minutes to 'finish installing' (after download complete). I've never seen any install take this long, but, I'm good to go now.

Accelerometer still steers you immediately into wall. I don't mind using the on screen wheel (probably what I'd choose anyways).

Two quick races and I'm impressed. Exceeded my expectations. It is definelty a Top Tier game. I think I've got alot of miles ahead of me on this!

99c for screen steering racing game of this calibur is no brainer. Someday HP will help all the Developers with a stable accelerometer ! I think the dramatic price drop is all Gameloft can do until an OS fix.

Downloading AC, but noticed a few new apps in the 79p price range. Hyperspce Tournement on the phones, has been re-released for TP as Spaceblip HD - with added features and all new graphics (a snake derivitive os steroids), well worth a few pennies. Also Flight Control is in the app cat, with added features! Just wanted to highlight some other good games, that are cheap and help highlight the fact that devs ARE still supporting the webOS platform - good on ya guys!

(euro pre 3 os 2.2.4)I absolutely regret buying smartoffice. can't login to google docs, gesture area no longer works and switching between docs is only possible when i close and restart PSO. I've read some great reviews so there must be something wrong (on my pre?) because PSO seems very much like an unfinished product

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline HD is not avaialable in the Australian HP App Catalog. Please update so all your software is available in all HP App Catalog.
