Bell Palm Pre unboxed up north 30
Update 2: Wongster send in the above video from Howard Chui of Howard's Forums - in case you missed the original unboxing, check out the above.
Our friends over at MobileSyrup have gotten their Canadian mitts on the Palm Pre for Bell Mobility for a quick unboxing. Packaging-wise the Bell Pre is practically identical to the Sprint Pre. Only difference is in the included documentation, which appears to only bear Palm branding and comes in English and French. Otherwise, as expected, it's the same phone as we've got down here. Another two weeks and we'll be welcoming all our Canadian friends to the webOS party. Let the countdown begin!
UPDATE: MobileSyrup has for whatever reason been served with a takedown notice for the video by Bell. Really, Bell? Apart from the addition of French as an option, it's the same phone we've already got down here. And it's not like you haven't told us it's coming. Just to spite them, MobileSyrup's put up some pictures of the unboxing instead.

He was getting pretty impatient at the boot time on the phone and I don't blame him. I'm suprise he didn't throw the slider off track or something the way he kept opening and closing it. lol
I dunno, this guy reviewing it seems kid of like of an idiot. It would have been nice to see the actual BOX of the unboxing. Also, he doesnt state if the device is CDMA or GSM.
there is no gsm out yet bell is cdma phones thats why they had instinct its kinda like sprint for canada...think before you post plz
Owned...
I did think, Im not Candian, so why the hell should I know what they use? Also, ALL of their carriers are going WCDMA, so its a valid question.
maybe canadian carriers are going to what ever the hell wcdma is but sprint is gonna go to WiMax and all other american carriers are going to go to LTE so if your talking about american carriers going to wcdma your wron again
.and im not canadian either and i knew what bell uses i guess you just dont know as much about stuff as i do?
Actually there is one other difference in the contents I did not see any headphones.
Can anyone confirm this? Bell Pre shipped with no headphones?! Seems unlikely to me.
Look at this idiot fumble around! Freaking read about the features before you start pounding on the screen and trying to flick away things (i.e. the wall paper) that don't move. This guy is a reviewer but I couldn't snag a review unit?
Yeah, this guy is a complete fucking moron. I love how the idiots always somehow rise to prominence!
I guess genius never has used a RIM product, as they take almost as long to boot. Oh, and they are Canadian 'Eh".
i wonder if this pre has better hardware build...
pretty good eh?
homeboy is excited..
Once they get the phones in, I'll just thank Bell for letting me try it out. CDMA is dealbreaker for me, I'll wait for the GSM version.
interesting. why? i had a gsm phone. i punched in the numbers. the call went through. now i have a cdma phone. i punch in the numbers and the call goes through. Honestly, my internet is faster too. Why does it matter? Do you travel a lot?
I went into a Bell store today and they had a Pre for me to play with for a few minutes. Nice to finally see one in person. Very slick and such an amazing screen.
I am agonizing over whether to get the Palm Pre.... I love the phone... but the CDMA is putting me off from jumping immediately.... I would wait for the GSM version, but no idea how long the wait will be...
Unless you travel out of the country alot or need to run data while talking you really do not need a GSM version.
Anyone else notice the imprinted 'Palm' logo on the pouch? Visible at 0:53. Mine doesn't have that detail.
Yeah, my 2nd & 3rd Pres did, along with a different color 'ball' and one othe rminor thing... Oh yeah, and there is a 'blotch' on the bottom of my screen, but at this point, Im just happy thephone actuall yworks again.
(sigh) I guess its the early adopter tax.
I didn't know Canadians had the technology to support cellphones yet. I thought they just shouted "ayyyy" out the window to call someone.
