Tom from Future Platforms talks about BlueVia from BlueVia on Vimeo.

Developers in the London area, listen up: BlueVia, a company that provides information, API's and a testing platform to help make mobile app launches a success, is hosting a TouchPad-friendly, webOS HackEvening this Monday, July 11th in London, England. They'll be giving London developers a chance to go hands-on with an HP TouchPad for themselves, see some presentations on webOS 3.0 App Development, and get connected with a large network of developers that are there to help each other grow (and compete with each other, of course). Something else that's cool with this event, HP Engineers will be on hand as well to give tours of the device and SDK.

With 42 openings left to register for the event, space available is going fast, so head over to the information page (in our source link) to get more details and sign up. There are some pre-requisites before arriving at the event as well, so click through the break to read the full Press Release, and then let us know in the comments if you'll be there. Be sure to check out our webOS Events page for July as well. We've updated it to add a few more events to the list, and hope to see you at a few of them this month!

That was an incredibly generic video and a generic article. What the heck do these APIs do?

Not a single example was given.

C'mon, don't make us work so hard for the info. Please!

Just talking about the event. We'll share more about the group as soon as we're able to play with their API's ourselves.

Well, you use their servers and API's... obviously they take a fee for every sale you make through their network.

@rlopin

I'm part of BlueVia :)

BlueVia offers 5 API's, SMS, MMS, User Context, Mobile Advertising and Location.

3 of them are revenue sharing.

An example, if your App/Service/Website etc sends or receives an sms or mms message on behalf of a user you get between 10-20% of the end user cost.

We are also about helping market both developers and their products, we're at events all the time and the best way to demonstrate our API's is to have a developer showing their App.

I'm just uploading some sample Enyo code to github atm

Wonderful.
