Bought a Pre in the past 30 days? Get your $50 back 63

Get $50 back on a Pre purchased in the past 30 days

So the Pre on Sprint dropped to $149.99, and you literally just forked over the full two Benjamins for the phone (well, three with the mail-in-rebate). Not happy about it? Well, you can get back that $50 you spent with Sprint’s price match adjustment policy. The catch: you have to have purchased the Pre within the past 30 days. As posted on Sprint’s corporate blog:

Starting today the Palm Pre™ phone from Sprint is available for $149.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $150 instant rebate and $100 mail-in rebate.

This pricing is available through Sprint stores, on the web (www.sprint.com) and by calling Sprint’s telesales group (1-800-SPRINT1).

Customers who paid $199.99 (after rebate) for Palm Pre within the past 30 days may be able to receive a price match adjustment.

Please take your receipt to the same type of retail outlet where the phone was purchased (i.e, if you bought your phone at a Sprint store, you can go to any Sprint store; if from a Best Buy, go to a Best Buy, etc.).

Customers who purchased a Palm Pre through Sprint Telesales or sprint.com may call 1-800-777-4681 (1-800-SPRINT1) and select Option 2.

I bought mine on 8-5-09 and I went in and told them (Best Buy) I was a silver member(Im not) and they gave me the 45 day price match. ha!

$80 billion to the nation's gross domestic product, but he overlooks a potential backlash considering that Italy is a net food importer and that its overall exports for 2007 totaled more than $470 billion. A bigger problem than foreign flavors, some food analysts suggest, is food fraud, when origins or processes of some ingredients are misrepresented.

I bought mine on launch day. Consider the $50 money well spent on bragging rights :-)

Then you paid the price of living on the edge. Don't worry, so did I (and an awful lot of people here).

It is unfortunate our reward for our patience with a phone some feel is still not ready for release is to pay $50 more.

Palm is doing the right thing here. Kudos.

i just got back from radio shack 50 dollars richer. they had some confusion with the return but they fixed it.

For those of you who purchased at Best Buy and are Silver Premier Reward Zone members, you can go back as far as 45 days for a price match. I did this a month back when BB dropped the price to 175 for a long weekend for reward zone members. I was even able to do it OVER THE PHONE on both of the Pre's I bought in early July; no trip to the store. They looked up the transaction and credited my card 54 bucks total. The refund posted to my credit card within two days.

I got the $100 adjusted price in the Best Buy screw up back in July.

Go me.

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! Ordered my about 4 days too early.

Yeah, but people getting one now missed out on 30 days they could have had it!

I need to call Sprint... we bought 2 on 8/8/09... we better get the $50 (or in our case, $100) rebate... at least it would be in good faith.

Called Sprint and they passed the buck twice until I got to a dead end...

Sprint told me I'd have to cancel my contract and return the phone then get a new phone and new contract to get the $50... The Sprint store says their price is still $299 with $100 mail in rebate. I just got the phone a couple days ago... Doesn't seem like they are willing to budge an inch for me. Anybody got any tips?

Give it a few days, print out the linked page, and then head over to the Sprint store.

I just got back from Best Buy. They gave me no troubles at all.

I went to the Sprint store after two failed attempts over the phone. The lady said "No, the price of the phone is $300 with the mail-in rebate. I told her that the price was changed on Tuesday, she looked confused. A co-worker leaned over and told her the price was changed. She said she had to go to the back and check about the $50. While she was gone, the other guy was telling me that most of the employees don't even know about the price change.

She came back and gave me a $50 dollars credit on my first bill. I asked if I could get the money back on my debit, she said no. She then applied the $50 credit to my first bill. If it went to my bank account, it would just get used later to pay the bill, and now the bill is just $50 cheaper. What is the case with everyone else? A credit on the account? Or the money put back on the debit/cash?

I received a $50 credit on my bill. Works for me.

So I talked to the Sprint store again... They won't give me a refund of any kind. This is B.S. They said I could cancel my contract and return the phone but they would charge me a $35 restocking fee. Then I could repurchase the phone for the $50 cheaper price and start a new contract... WTF...

Go to another store and/or call Sprint.

To Scodoublet,

Are you within your 30 days? If you are, then they have to give you the $50 credit. If they say they are unable to do this, tell them to pull up the Sprint website, then go to "Community" and right there is the announcement about you being able to receive credit for the price change. Here the is the link:

Yes I just got the phone last Tuesday September 1st. I will try that! Thank you for the info :)

37 days! Bastards! They would not make any exceptions.

So I tried calling back the Sprint store again... Gave them the info about the link on Sprint.com and they said that it was just a community chat forum and that they can't do anything about that. They said it's not a "Sprint Policy"... They said I'll have to talk to the manager tomorrow about it... Ughhh...

That's ridiculous. It seems it's more of an issue with the employees and them not being aware of the policy. I have gotten the $50 credit to my Sprint account, and others have done the same, so obviously they are the ones at fault at not being aware of this. Keep persisting until you receive that credit.

Oh yeah I will for sure keep it up. I still have quite a few days to keep bothering them. Talking to Sprint Customer Support again and explaining everything... hopefully it all works out.

I bought my phone last Friday and was able to go back in and get the $50. They credited it to my account. The part about it not being Sprint policy is BS, that was a Sprint blog post not a chat forum.

When I went in and told them the price on the Pre had been lowered they started to argue with me. I came prepared and printed out the blog post and showed it to them. The guy talked to a manager for a few minutes and then credited my account the $50. Took me about 5 minutes.

I got my $50 towards my account I just called sprint

I called sprint and asked about it, the woman i spoke to knew nothing about it and i actually directed her to this website, precentral.net, and she told me that the offer wasnt actually through sprint, I ended up getting a $50 credit to my account tho

Crap... I bought mine at Best Buy on Aug 8. And I'm no where close to Silver Premier Reward Zone status.

Got Mine!

How can I get it from Best Buy online services. I bought mine online.

@Anonymous 09/09/09 22:09 - The link was posted above, but I will go ahead and post it again:

Glad I saw this today! Got mine in Aug 9.

I purchased my phone online on 8/26 and opted for the price of the phone to be placed on my bill. My first bill is due around 9/20 and it is now $50 cheaper. Cool!

Got two $50 credits on my family plan. Eazy peazy.

The pimply-faced freckled young kid at the store desk didn't even give me any lip.

Is this the new Sprint? Is it snowing in hell?

Called the Sprint store today and got the $50 credit in about 3 minutes. Now with the $100 marketing mistake they made earlier in the week, the $100 rebate and the $50 referral Visa gift card, my Pre was free!

I was able to secure the price correction at my local Best Buy. I had already price adjusted once due to a Reward Zone sale where they gave my $25 back. I was hoping to keep that as well as get my $50 but they would only adjust down to the current price. I figured as much but had to try :)

I just walked in to Best Buy, asked for a price match, and the guy got to work. I didn't even have my receipt. He just looked it up from Reward Zone, and a couple minutes later I was walking out with my $50, plus taxes cash. Nice.

I was a two year upgrade and purchased at Best Buy. At the Best Buy Mobile center, they sent me to the returns and exchanges line in customer service. The girl there asked me how much the price drop was and I said $50 and she credited my debit card $53.50, no problem.. I bought my Pre two weeks ago.

I did a two year upgrade from my previous i870 (yea old) and the first time I called I never pressed #2 like I was suppose to and instead pressed option #4. So it was denied, she lied and said that the $50 was only available to those who setup a new line (obviously trying to earn more commission). Called back after reading some comments here and pressed #2 and got it within 3 minutes. Thank you sprint for not keeping everyone updated...and of course the money back is appreciated.

Waiting a couple days for the policy to proliferate seems to have been beneficial. I went in yesterday, and as soon as I said I'd like to get the $50 price adjustment credit on my and my wife's new phones they said "yes, we got an email about it, let me just check and figure out how to do it correctly." NO question or hassles that I would get it (bought phones only 2 weeks ago), just how.

Turns out it took another guy to assist and a manager's approval, because I'd ported numbers in from Verizon for a new family plan for 3 (daughter went with the Blackberry as their college IT and mail has pre-canned scheduling etc. solutions to link up to it) they had to 'return' the phones without cancelling service so I didn't lose my ported numbers. Then the mgr had to re-enter those specific phones into inventory so I could 're-buy' them. It was a hassle (for them, just cost me some time) but the upshot is I got the money back on my cc directly (well, as soon as the refund and new purchase equalize out, for a day or two I guess it's tying up more of my credit limit). I actually said to them I was a bit sorry for the hassle, and would've been happy with bill credit, but for $100 I wasn't so sorry I wasn't going to put them thru it. The mgr looked me in the eye and said "please don't apologize, its our silly system...you shouldn't feel guilty for what we have to do even if it was only $1 credit!".

So far having joined the Pre ranks 2 weeks ago, seen about 20 new apps hit the catalog, 1.2 "almost" ready for prime time, $50 back per phone, and the new unlimited to any mobile with Sprint's plan, I'm feeling pretty good. Verizon treated me like >BLEEP

ba da da da da...i'm loving it! i'm gonna go later today for my $50.
