Change your email signature 7
by Adam Marks Thu, 30 Jun 2011 12:43 pm EDT
Whenever your send an email from your webOS device, a signature is automatically added to the bottom of the note and will typically be defaulted to something like "Sent from my Palm Pre". If you want to update the signature or simply get rid of it, you can do that from within the Email preferences screen, and you can even differ it by email account.
To change your email signature:
- From anywhere within the email app, swipe down from the top-left and select the "Preferences & Accounts" option.
- Under the ACCOUNTS section, tap on the email account where you want to update the signature
- Find the SIGNATURE section, where you will see the defaulted text already populated in there
- Tap on the text and (or delete) edit it to be whatever you would like
- You can even add formatting to the signature by adding color, bold, italics or underline
- Swipe back to the preferences screen to save your edits or to choose another email account to edit

You have enough of these for a book now I believe. If I was HP I'd be on the phone turning these articles into a webOS manual that ships with devices.
I have done this a hundred times and it keeps changing back to the factor signature.
IMPORTANT: If you keep the "--Sent from my Palm Pre" and add a signature you must remove one or both of the dashes. The double dash will reset the signature back to the default setting. Took me forever to figure that out
I use the double dash in my modified signature as it is the official signature delimiter and it never changed to anything.
Tbh I would love if WebOS would automatically insert that delimeter in order to allow intelligent e-mail clients (every client except outlook) to identify and cut signatures out when replying.
Thanks Adam for all the great tips and nice you made that special coil delivery to the old world possible. hope to get one of these too, i'm on the waiting list right now.
Just want to emphasize that you can have different signatures for each email account. Unlike the other OS I won't mention. :D
I changed my signature as noted on my Touchpad 3.0.4 as noted, and it works fine when I create a new email from the email app, but whenever I use a "send email' type option in other apps, I have get the original signature….
