Crosstalk Beta hits Homebrew - webOS 2.0 local sharing is go 13

by Dieter Bohn Tue, 08 Feb 2011 11:32 am EST

Crosstalk Beta is now available in our Homebrew gallery. It requires webOS 2.0 and above and a friend with webOS 2.0 and above. If you're that most rare breed of person with both, you can use Crosstalk to share files and contact info with other people on your WiFi network.

Check out the video above for a preview - and sadly a 'preview' is all it will be for the vast majority of you. Let's hope that a webOS 2.0 release for all current webOS devices is coming soon.

Hopefully they won't forget us loyal current customers in tomorrow's big announcement and give a REAL date (hopefully extremely soon) when our current phones will get the new OS.

That's nice, another WebOS 2.0 ONLY app/feature. If only WebOS 2.0 would come out for us Sprint users...

It WILL come. Stop whining and wait until tomorrow for more details.

Can we start whining after tomorrow when all we hear is "in coming months" again?

I wasn't whining. Just expressing my disappointment at not being able to share in the excitment. All the news has been for WebOS 2.0 devices. Just frustrating to have a Sprint Pre Minus with WebOS 1.4.5. Feels like we're being left behind. The announcment on 2/9 is completely separate from this. No matter what is announced, I'd still like to get WebOS 2.0 on my Sprint Pre.

Yes, I am really hoping and looking for the upgrade to WebOS 2.0 to my current device! HPalm please donlt delay!!!

mmh... with the new webOS 2.0 two month limitation on calendar sync built in, the update is suddenly a whole lot less appealing...

I,m hoping sprints gets some HPalm devices like the palm pre-2!

Any way to send calendar and contact info to other WebOS users over SMS?

that's cool.. But to bad all my palm friends drop there pre's for evo's really no one to cross talk anymore. My brother got his evo's last week so he can use tango with everyone . =/

This seems like a fantastic app! Am I the only one who thinks something like this should be integrated into the HP webOS operating system?

+1... but via bluetooth instead of wifi?!?!!
