David Guetta and Usher use TouchPad to reverse 250 million years of plate tectonics [video] 28

by Derek Kessler Mon, 17 Oct 2011 7:35 pm EDT

In part two of “When product placement, cancelled devices, and production timelines collide” we present the latest release from artists David Guetta and Usher, the ironically-(for us)-titled “Without You”, which comes complete with not-too-blatant Beats Audio product placement and far-too-blatant HP TouchPad product placement. At least this time it’s in the hands of news hound beach babes and not Future Dr. Dre’s doctor. The "Without You" music video, in all its dancing plate shifting weirdness, is after the break.

to save your ears from this **** the placement I saw was around 1:50

THANKS! I was cringing at the thought of listen through that ****.

I liked the song and the Video and I don't, generally, like Usher. I thought it was bittersweet, and ironic. What's probably the last promo we'll ever see for the TouchPad and it's called "Without You".

On the day Ice Cream Sandwich comes out with many of WebOs' features. As soon as HTC comes out with an NFC, Ice Cream Sandwich phone, I'm bricking my 2.5 year old Palm Pre.

I'll still miss it.

The also had the TouchPad in the I need a doctor video with emiem and Dr see the touchpad rules haven't seen the iPad in jacks....

Wadsworth constant strikes again.

"Without you?" Yet again HP baffles like no other... Remind me, how did HP get so big and so successful in the first place? The HP/webOS debacle continues to reach new highs (or lows depending on your perspective).

It is a cleaver scheme created by the HP gods where they create so much hype and frustration that when they surprise release a new WebOS tablet/phone/object the pricing will be over-the-top.

"..how did HP get so big and so successful in the first place?"

...I don't know...something about innovation or some such nonsense.

Remember, HP is not really the old HP. Compaq bought HP and then Compaq changed their name to HP.

Of course, if they succeed in spinning off the PC business, what will be left behind will be services and the original HP printer business.

Wrong way round, HP bought Compaq ;o)

It's pretty sad that we're all actually hoping HP pulls a 'New Coke' stunt. If they do: I guarantee it will have been by accident.

This is HP dancing on Palm's grave ... Yeah, by omission.

Well i don't know about you all but This song is quite fitting... never the same as with Mark Hurd

Does the TouchPad look like that? No.

The touchpad has gone the way of music videos.... Endangered and soon to be extinct :(

cool

I think its show that production schedules and marketing didn't seem to be on the same page as to release :P

They also showed a Touchpad on the lastest episode of Desperate Housewives this past Sunday.

saw that! Also the Pre3 was in Grey's Anatomy.

Let's not worry about HP. In the end, a tablet's a tablet right? And with dual booting, we're already a step above the rest. We have the hottest tablet of 2011.

If anything, this shows that the cancellation was entirely unplanned and only done on a random whim - this video (and all other placements trickling in these days) was planned months in advance, and proves that the plan was to keep on selling the TouchPad with ever-new marketing shenanigans to keep up mindshare.

And then Leo said "lol, no. I feel like cancelling something! here's 25% off your stock price, investors :) where's my golden parachute? ah here! bye now!"

Their more recent decisions have been the same way :-(

Wow and to add to the nonsense, there is a ad banner advertising the TouchPad in the page of this article. This makes me sad and angry.

omg that was ****

can not watch the video over here in Germany as the f..king GEMA has not granted rights to Youtube for watching it.

Check this out, i'm from Argentina and i have sometimes the same issue.

Search on google ''avoid youtube copyright''

;)

You know I just gotta say whatever. I love my touchpad. I just paired it to a 7 year old phone just now and it took less than 2 minutes. What I'd like to see is webOS running on the new windows tablet that is on it's way. As a sub program, oh wait, I heard someone at HP say that, it was, oh yea last winter. The touchpad box was a little klunky. Did it take all 500 of those hardware design people to come up with that? Maybe their best was not released. May webOS live a long life. By the way you designers why don't Android devices run webOs?

I think Meg Whitmen should be singing "Without You" to the PSG Group and the Web OS hardware division!
