Developers: HP now accepting in-app purchase item submissions 7

Hey developers, good news: HP is now accepting submissions for their new in-app purchasing system for webOS 3.0. You’ll have to submit individual items, which will each be reviewed by the webOS Developer Relations Team (certainly an easier process than reviewing an entire app), and once approved those items will be available for purchase from within your enabled apps. Of course, you have to build the app to take advantage of the service, and to build that app you need the webOS 3.0 SDK that’s still under NDA as part of the Early Access Program... but hey, as long as the 3.0 SDK doesn’t stay in closed beta as long as the first webOS SDK, we’ll be good. Also, keep an eye out for Lodsys, we hear they're a sly bunch.

It takes less than 24 hours to be approved into the closed beta for webOS 3.0. It's hardly a barrier for anyone wanting to join, and it's free.

But you cant openly talk about it in forums and get people's opinion and ideas

Wonder will H/P take a cut from in app purchases?

The Image for this article says it all. $$$
The touchpad is overpriced. If they proved themselves first at a lower price than the Ipad then raised the prices next year... that's a different story.
I really wanted a touchpad, but comon $700 for a 16GB wifi only touchpad and 2 touchstones and a cover is just not justified.
A netbook can more for less.

Fine, just don't buy it.

If TouchPad is overpriced, buy something else that's better value for money or wait until it's a year old. In both cases, you won't have a TouchPad. So, if you really want a TouchPad in July, it's different from wanting a TouchPad that has proven itself in the market.

Knowing exactly what you want, and when, is the first step. The rest is easy.

Curious that people think the TouchPad is overpriced. When the iPad was still a rumour, everyone thought it would cost like 1000 bucks, and when Apple announced it at 499 everyone was in shock.
