Disqus management app coming to webOS 16
The good folks over at the universal commenting house of Disqus today announced that they’re bringing their excellent tools to webOS. This isn’t news for commenters, so much as it is for the bloggers that use Disqus’ comments system on their site (Engadget, for example). Disqus’ soon-to-be-launched webOS app (Android has already launched, iOS is in review) will enable blog administrators to manage comments and commenters on the go. And we would be remiss to not mention how awesome it is that webOS is being included in a significant cross-platform launch like this. We’re fans of cross-platform launches, even more so when they include our favorite OS.
Included in the app will be tools to approve comments, mark spam (for use across all Disqus comments), delete content, filter by status, search, view context, and post replies on your blog posts. Oh, and it’ll be complete with background notifications too, presumably so you can be notified if somebody’s actually thinking enough of what you post to leave a comment. Or spam, you never know these days.

It be nice to see Precentral get an overhaul on the site, like if your on a mobile device, it would detect that and give you a nice, graphical mobile site like TiPb does :). I seen people like the disqus comment system, maybe be nice to implement that on this site too so you Precentral team can use that very nice looking Disqus app :)
A move to Disqus is not in the cards.
Is that because you would have to pay them to use it? Because Disqus has a very nice commenting system. In fact, it would be nice if all the sister sites (androidcentral, TiPb, etc) would move to Disqus. So much easier and smoother.
Disqus does not integrate with our forums the way our current system does. ;)
just bookmark the mobile site. Or get the precentral app. It loads the mobile site.
Working late on a Friday night. We appreciate it.
+1
This reminds me. When is engadget going to update their app so we can start commenting again?
Great! Disqus is an elegant commenting system. I wish the whole internet used it.
The only problem is that there's no "Dislike" button. Oh, and for some reason they put the "Reply" button right next to the "like" button. With the amount of times I've mistakenly hit the "Like" button, the Law of Averages makes me believe that 30% of all Likes are accidents.
Now all we need is for the wordpress people to release a webOS app and webOS will be the ultimate blogging platform.
There is already a very nice app for wordpress, called Poster.
I am glad to know this. I just added Disqus to my site's news and blog sections (literally, 2 minutes ago).
That's great, I really like Disqus as a commenting system. If and when I launch my own blog, I'd use nothing else.
If everybody used Disqus, that would mean technically Disqus would have a way to give us a capability I have been wishing for on the consumer end. Namely, they would be able to give us commenters a view of all our comments consolidated across multiple sites.
That would be sweet.
HOORAY! That's awesome news!
Man, that header looks familiar...
I'm not saying they ripped foursquare off, just saying, maybe I helped inspire them :)
