Evernote for webOS updated; lots of new features 19

by Dieter Bohn Tue, 11 Jan 2011 2:22 pm EST

We've been tracking the updates to Evernote for some time now and it looks as though the beta has graduated to the official version of Evernote in the App Catalog. The fine people behind the cloud-based note-taking app note on their blog that the major new features include notebook filters, more note sorting options, a proper list view (yay!), more editing options, and, well, more.

They end their blog post with the follow, heartwarming message: "We’re committed to the WebOS platform, so you can expect lots more in the future."

Go on and check out the app if you haven't before and if you've left Evernote in the past, now's the time to come back.

Why the sudden turn around and giving updates when everyone else is jumping ship? Did they get some money perhaps? Not that it matters, just nice to start getting some updates.

Papa Bear HP talked to them, most likely.

Damn. I missed it by a hair. Lol

You can reply to a specific comment, you know...

I'm glad to hear that they are going to continue to support webOS. Maybe all the emails and comments to them helped. The webOS community is pretty vocal.

It was weird though because the Evernote app disappeared from the app catalog for a while. Must of been while they were updating.

I got the current update as a beta a little while back and it is much nicer - sort by notebooks and editing of notes is much better. Also I've noticed a faster load and sync.

I left Evernote a while back after the updates stopped hitting. Glad to hear this developer has recommitted to WebOS...hopefully more will come back into the fold, along with some new developers.

Evernote has the potential to be amazing on the Pre (webOS). I'm celebrating the commitment of Evernote but I still don't understand why I can't email a note from the pre. Is that really so difficult to program?

Not really, no.

Going to download evernote and give it a whirl. Glad to see the updates!

I've recently gotten into it.. Pretty cool. Looking forward to the cooler features, like voice memos/attachments, etc. Not sure if txt reading from imgs works or not, havent tried yet. I think there are other features were yet lacking, but I've been seeing updates, so excited & looking forward!

Saw a tip here but it's gone now?
But on the computer sign in with Evernote go to your settings and you will find a email address to mail them to!!!
Now you can email the Evernote!!!

Can we please just get a refresh button in the app? It's a small thing, but both the iOS and Android apps have it, but we have to go into the menu to select "Refresh Cache" to refresh the listing. Cumbersome and frankly just inefficient. Everyone on twitter should follow @evernote and let them know there your opinions and thanks...

Going into a single swipe down menu in webOS is not the same as if you had to go into a menu in iOS or Android. It's actually a nice little use of basic webOS mechanics.

what version is the new update? I am no seeing any update. the version that I have says that it was updated on the 7th and is version 1.3.8

Just wandering if many of you use(used) spring pad it and if so which do you prefer...I know they have yet to come out with an app for WebOS but even the mobile site is functional enough for now! I used to use Evernote but found myself using spring pad it more.

I used to use evernote for my pre but didnt like it .. downloaded springpad for my android and thats my favorite note app so far!

Can anyone provide the relative pros and cons of this app compared to "Notes" by Inglorious Apps. I have the latter, but I hardly ever use it--and have never used the stock "Memos" aap--because they don't sync with Google and my PC via my Companionlink app.

It looks like Evernote does sync, so I might be interested.

Missed the bus home yesterday, as I waited at starbucks, I managed to do research, and type up some of my essay in the two hour wait for the bus to arrive.

On my phone.

Cool story, huh?

I love Evernote and would love it even more on my PalmPre if it had one more feature. Offline mode. If I cache everything, why do I need an online connection just to work?
