FCC rips apart a Verizon Pre3 just because they can, finally gets to share the pictures 26
The devious and destructive team at the FCC gave the Verizon HP Pre3 a thorough work-over back in April, but in the intervening months HP’s called backsies on webOS and cancelled all hardware development and started looking for suitors. But that doesn’t stop the government. Nothing stops the government. They were asked to hold the gory pictures of their Pre3 discection until recently, and hold them they did.
The Verizon Pre3 is never to see light of day, with a few dozen specimens at best floating around, so it makes this FCC teardown session all the more intriguing. The naughty webOS striptease is after the break.

Is it sad I still want one, but can't buy one with outrageous prices on ebay?
I don't think the price is outrageous. unsubsidized iphone 4s costs about 700 bucks too.
did they figure out why its such a horrible user experience?
(yes that's a complaint masked as a rhetorical question :-)
omg the PC app is going crazy.. How about optimizing it for the pre3, scienceapps?
So, we're sitting here on death row, and the only question is whether they're going to officially kill us or just stop coming by the cell to give us food and water.
I'd DIE!! before I'm deprived of my bread and water!
[wondering if rioting would give us a stay of execution...]
I just got a pre 3 off of ebay for $240. Don't know what you're talking about regarding outrageous prices.
I think they are talking about the Verizon edition not the unlocked GSM one.
The Verizon one is now about what I paid for the unlocked GSM one. *sigh*
But I couldn't be happier. This is the phone I was waiting for. And the HSPA+ speeds are great (and available the whole way for my work commute). AT&T is a horrible company and I miss Verizon, but faux 4G is worth the switch if you don't want to deal with Android.
I was a sprint customer for sooo long... Don't know why I hesitated buying the pre 3 from amazon for att.. Definitely worth the move.
none of that matters ... Cause I'm not switching from Sprint to VZN and their outrageous tired pricing ... I'm wating on which phone comes out with Ice Cream on it :-)
Neat. Neither of my two ATT Pre3's have an HP logo under the back cover
I would buy one in a heartbeat if HP (or someone) and Verizon would support it.
PIVOT the sport issue magazine is out. Check it out in our HP catalogue.
What does PIVOT has anything to do with Pre 3 ?
They have the same life expectancy in the market.
I still want a Pre 3.
My pictures are better: http://bit.ly/pre3-disassembly

I got one of these. Great device. I still can't believe how much I dropped on it though. But I have to say, worth it.
Love my Verizon iPhone (you know, a phone you can actually get, that's supported, and with a potential, uhh, *future*...) but I totally miss cards and multi-tasking.
Sigh...
I got my pre 3 from ebay I love it! And need more apps!
I broke down and bought a Iphone 4gs primarily for SIRI but I have to admit the one is very nice.
I still have my TouchPad.
I have a pre3 unlocked to T-Mobile. I LOVE it. The screen is retna quality (side-by-side comparison of websites with brightness full) the keyboard is perfect. Runs all the pre apps. I've found a few quirks, but once I worked thru them, it runs perfectly. My wife and I pay $89 after tax for 1000 min shared and unlimited everything else on Tmob for both phones (pre3 and veer). Saving $50 from our old Sprint rates.
@jessebaumgartner Did you get an AT&T Pre3 or Verizon? I got a Verizon, and am desparately trying to find a way to get it to work on the Sprint Network, but would be open to other possibilities.
out of curiosity, what apps, for webos, would you like to have. something that other os's have or something new, that's not out there, yet.
Keepass
I thought I was going to be delighted with the pre3, but... Still the same cons I had with my pre minus some apps doesn't run and battery drains in 4 h I don't know if it was worth it getting one... But my touchpad some other story, still amazing!!
