February is fitness month at Mobile Nations!
New Years is over, January has come and gone, and for many of us, our get fit and get healthy resolutions have come and gone with it. Rather than leaving them lying in ruin with what's left of our waist lines and good intentions, however, we want to do something about it. And we want you to do something about it with us!
Enter fitness month!
Whether CrackBerry challenged Android Central, WPCentral threw down the gauntlet on webOS Nation, or iMore called them all out, who remembers? The important thing is this -- we're using February to get off our collective apps and get into shape.

Each week we're each going to set reasonable, attainable goals, and each week we're going to take advantage of our awesome community to make sure we attain them. We're going to have special editions of our ZEN and TECH and Superfunctional podcasts to help us get going and stay going, and we're going to be keeping track in the forums to keep us focused, keep us accountable, and keep us keeping on!
Oh, and you could win a 32GB TouchPad bundle!
You, the webOS Nation, are our motivation. And to keep you motivated, we have some great prizes lined up. Anyone and everyone who participates, who shares their goals and keeps us up-to-date with their regular progress will be automatically entered to into our:

I've connected my touch pad to an ab exerciser belt. Also think I'll connect to a toaster, per the earlier realized idea.
that way I'll never have to get out of my chair, but should be good to go!
Does my login for the regular comments work for the forums? I am loged in, but the forum asks for me to login again.
Nope, the forum is a different login. Always seemed odd to me.
Forum is the same username and password... doesn't always log you in automatically between the two (working to fix).
Thank you. I am a Family Practice doctor and really like this topic. I think I have some good books that can help with diet and exercise.
I've tried EVERYTHING, short of diet, and exercise and I just can seem to lose any weight!
Best way to lose weight is to do a bit of running or jogging with a controlled diet.
Exercise helps a lot too, try abs crunch using couch. I followed these and have lost some weight but it has helped gain some shape. To be true execise to maintain status quo.
Everyone should check the catalog for Weight Log, only $0.99.
Just great. I can log in, but do not have 15 posts. The 2 books I can recommend are "Mens Health Big Book of Exercises" and "The Amen Solution" by Daniel Amen for diet advice. Good luck to everyone!
Post more! The forums are great! :D
I will, but patients keep getting in the way!
And dont forget every hour sexual activity helps you burn 500cal...Just Sayin'
Can't reply in the forums yet, still short on posts, so I'm sticking it here. As I am on the Wellness Team at work I figure I should lead by example. No more Pepsi, or junk food. Dusting of the Wii Fit frist thing in the morning and going back to my 30 min, 3 days a week workout. Also thanks to camiller for the great article from Men's Journal.
I can't post in the forums either. So, I will post my goal here. I will do the cardio.
Been meaning to start running again for a while. I guess this is a good excuse.
Going to go for the 30 minute option, but we will see how tomorrow's run goes.
I still can't post in the forums (I am still working on boosting my total posts). So, my weekly follow up will be here.
I completed week 1. I was originally planning on 30 minutes of run/walking (about 2.5 miles total). But on Saturday, I got invited to a pick-up game of basketball, and that because my 3rd workout for the week.
So, now on to week two, which I am plan on making the same as week one. Excersing 3 days this week for at least 30 minutes.
does logging on burn calories?
I like the **** option... But my potential mates seem to run away from a guy with an ab belt connected to his touch pad.
hmm...
This article needs to be updated to warn that only consistent posters will be allowed to post on the forum.
As for me, my goal is to walk at least two miles each day.
Like some of the others I don't have enough posts to reply to the forum entry. It's like the chicken & the egg, need 15 posts to reply, but cannot post since I don't have 15 posts.
I'm going to increase my cardio training.
Try one more time, my previous comment has disappeared. Since I cannot reply in the forums I will also post here.
Will add to my Cardio routine.
My goals:
Each day: Do 2 sets of 10 pushups, 10 sit ups, and 10 squats.
3 days each week: 30 minutes of aerobic activity.
Each week: drop 2-3 pounds.
By Feb. 29, reduce weight to 180 pounds or less.
This and similar articles should state that only frequent posters (15 or more) can post on the forum.
