Description
FFplayer (aka File Folder Player) is a music player that plays songs from a file/folder based structure. It is built entirely on Jason Robitaille's FileMgr Service and provides File I/O access as a result. This currently provides you the ability to permanently delete songs from your device. Other features include gapless playback, shuffle songs (with memory), auto launch last played song, and animated backgrounds.

do i need to uninstall other players? on preware it has 2 companion install packets: internalz and file manager. do i install both or just one?
Hello,
You do not need to uninstall anything. You only need to install FileMgr Service in addition to this app. You do not need to install Internalz (however it is a pretty cool app that you might want to try out as well).
Once you have FFplayer successfully installed, please connect your Pre to your computer via USB, then create a "music" folder and place all your music files in there.
Thanks
FFplayer did not work for me (Palm PRE2, EU-UMTS unlocked), error message:"No songs were found at /media/internal/music"! Even after creating those directories and placing *.mp3 files there. But... this step helped in making the pre-installed player work!
So...thanks for the error message!!
;-)
PS: Internalz hangs on my pre. (WebOS 2.0)
Hello,
Your problems are due to the fact that FFplayer does not currently work with WebOS 2.0
Thank you
I got it to find the files on WebOS 2.x but no sound.
hello, FFplayer did not work for my palm pre, show an error: No songs were found at /media/internal/music
Hello, please connect your Pre to your computer via USB. Then create a new folder called "music". Put all of your music into that folder. Also remember that right now FFplayer does not work with WebOS 2.0
Thank you
Hi, I'd like to install this app via Preware but it seems broken. Download is OK but then nothing happens, not even an error. It just simply seems to check and never finishes. I've also deleted the ipkg, with exactly the same result, i.e. after complete download it's stuck.
Sounds like a really interesting app which would do exactly what I want, since all music is organized in folders.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel
I've got the same problem as danielmader. I don't see a download link here either..all it says is please register & login to download this file. I'm logged in too & tried signing out & signing back in to no avail.
Hello, if you are having problems installing FFplayer then please go here...
http://forums.precentral.net/2660929-post1.html
Then click on both download links and install both of them.
But FIRST you will need to have Preware or Internalz already installed on your device AND have either of them set to handle the automatic installation of IPK files. You can set that in the Preferences screen for either of those apps.
NOTE: If you are using a Pre2 and/or are running webOS v2.x then FFplayer will not work. In that case keep your eyes open for a webOS 2.x release of FFplayer (which will be renamed to be called "File Player".
Thanks
I have been looking for an application like this for a long time. However, it will not play audio through my blue tooth headset. Hopefully the developer can fix this that would be great.
Thanks
The download hangs... Could that be because of my having a Pre 2, with 2.1?
Attention all users,
I have ceased development of this app. I have moved on to Android instead. FYI, two amazing Android apps that do everything FFplayer does and more are called MortPlayer and PowerAMP.
Nevertheless, you can still access the last/final versions of FFplayer (aka File Player) at the following links...
