Having trouble downloading. Where on the Pre do I copy it to?

How do you download this stuff? Everytime I try it says cannot find application to open file. Please help me. Hell I'm still trying to figure out how this copy and paste crap works. I'm either dumb or I'm just doing it wrong lol. Anybody got answers?

this app was working great but now its just loading not showing me any apps to download, I tried resetting the phone but nothing happens can anyone help me, i like this app its better then the app catalog it has more apps.

I cannot download is application on my pre.... and i can't download other applications until i download this one.... when i click on "download filecoaster" from my pre it says "cannot find an application which can open this file" HOW THE HECK CAN I DOWNLOAD THIS IN ORDER TO DOWNLOAD THE OTHER APPLICATIONS? if i can't figure this out by the end of the day i'm bring this pre back and getting the blackberry tour... this phone is way too complicated for my taste. Love the app (of course)... quick question: can I download the update for Filecoaster FROM Filecoaster once it's on my device or do I need to delete it and re-install it?

I don't know what is going on with my computer, but I can't get this to work. I'm @ step 4, however as soon as I hit install I get ERROR:1 Connection Refuse: connect. I hit OK and I get another message ERROR: no device found. So I hit OK one more time and it shows connecting to device and it stays there forever. Any help? I already restart my computer and reinstall novacom...

@diabolick3000: When I was getting that error, I unpacked the webOSdoctor.jar (just open it with Winzip unpack it), went into the resources folder and ran the NovacomInstaller_x86.msi (_x64 if you are running a 64-bit OS). That fixed the problem for me. It sounds like you might have done that, but if not, give that a shot.

When ever I download something it says install failed not enough install... And I only have like ten homebrew apps.with 4.8 gb. Idk what the problem is.

OK for those of you who are confused. Its quite simple. Follow the instructions. You need to use ur computer to install this to your pre. There is no way around that.

I love this program... though I keep getting an error when installing files now...

I have read in the forums on other sites that this is a number of programs loaded on pre error. (something about 80 apps loaded total limit) Upon reading this i deleted a few apps, but am still unable to download/install certain programs and updates.

Has anyone found a work around for this problem?

I feel as if this phone was NOT ready to be released, they didn't even have car chargers readily available, phone is not able to copy a pic, the games are horrible compared to the iPhone, & NO ONE at *any* Sprint Store knows how to use it, either! Awesome work, guys..and *THIS* is supposed to be "better than the iPhone"?? THIS is what the hype was for? More people can't figure it out than can; & with no instruction booklet & no one else even knowing what this damn thing is, can you blame 'em? I've come close to giving it to some homeless people, but that's just mean. I'd *have* to throw in some Tylenol cause this thing is a pain!!!

I've downloaded all the files to my computer and am now trying to add the files to my PRE via the WebOS Install but am getting an error message "Error -- No Device Found" when trying to click install on the filecoaster and mynotification through the WebOS install. I have selected "USB Drive" when connecting my pre...but still see the error message "Error -- No Device Found". Can anyone help me figure this out?

yeah I'm having a couple problems with this. I'm not the most savvy person, I'm new to this phone! I've downloaded the WebOS quick install, but I can't figure out how to get the file coaster? Am i supposed to dl it from my computer or my palm? when I click to save it on my computer a box comes up with what I want to open it with, but gives me no options? I'm soo lost! can someone help me please, or txt me with a solution? thanks

yeah... i have no idea how to download anything on here. ive got it to work once and it was the Mac Theme and ever since then i have not been able to download anything apps or themes. i did everything its telling me to do but im getting nothing out of it.

Replaced my broken Pre with a new one so going through the motions again. However, this time...

I can install all apps from homebrew but cant seem to install filecoaster. dialogue says, downlaoding then installing but it doesn't show up on the Pre. Can install everything else no problem. Did Palm block it?

I've downloaded everything and even the app tp my phone... When I click on the filecoaster app on my phone and click "Homebrew list" it loads for a sec, freezes and gives me this error: Exception:Failed while parsing, xml not found. Any clue as to what I did wrong? text or call 210.831.2213

why does my file coaster take 23948293420 years to start up its not showing the apps?

Installation went great, but does not work at all. When I start the app and select "homebrew list" the message at the bottom informs me that it found apps and then gets stuck trying to load them. I can select options for viewing and some even appear in the list but I can't touch them because they are blocked by the spinning loading wheel of eternity. Please help!

Install worked, but the wheel just keeps spinning when I try to load it. Exactly the same issue as the previous 2 posts above me.

I know it's already been said, but It isn't working with the new version... just hoping filecoaster will receive an update soon (fingers crossed)

EVERYONE if you have a friend who has filecoaster and its still working tell them they need to update it before it stops I think that is what happen to most of us if you go to file coaster and try and open it go to the top of your phone click on file coaster drop down menu and go to sort and go to latest and then go to latest or update and you will see file coaster and a few others that need update but we will have to wait for them to update the program for it to happen

Filecoaster v.1.1.6 but now it gives me "An error occurred... Exception:timeout" ? why is it doing this?
It was working fine with version 1.1.5.
I used preware to update to 1.1.6

this application doesn't work on my phone any ore since i have updated my fun, ive tried taken the app off my phone and putting it back on but nothing works, what can i do.

I have v.1.1.4 and it is no longer working, no homebrew list shows, pasting urls for downloads result in Install Error every time. Do I need to delete and re-install or is there a way to update the version I have?

Can I get a version update directly to the palm, or do I need to reinstall it and delete the old version. Thanks to whoever can help. The reason I ask is that when I open file coaster it says that it is loading the aps, but all it gives me is the circle loading thing, and it never finishes loading. I love having filecoaster so please help me out. Thanks again.

I had a tech at a Sprint store tell me they would not honor any warranty if Filecoaster was installed. He tried to tell me it was the same as putting an iPhone app on an Android phone. He said it would make it a 'jailbroke' phone.

Isn't this application developed with the PalmOS's api? Does this sound correct to anyone?

I downloaded the latest (v1.1.6) FileCoaster, but when I try to install, I'm getting the error msg., "Unauthorised call to open an ipk." Sound like pilot error? ..or maybbe has to do with the latest Web O.S. i downloaded last night??

Did a hard and soft reset to the phone and Filecoaster still does not work. Either does the Installer application. No help or support from Palm. They gave me a link that does not help. Anyone get a solution yet to this problem.
