First webOS homebrew app says "hello" 10
That didn’t take long. It’s the simple things really, like getting the NASCAR application to do your bidding and say “Hello World!” scm6079 in our webOS Development forum has taken advantage of the recently uncovered webOS ROM reflash tool to cut his teeth in programming for the mobile Linux operating system, and the above is the result. It’s pretty basic, as you can see here, the hacked app will let you launch the camera app, activate the camera’s LED flash, and make the vibrator shimmy. Palm, we recommend that you get the Mojo SDK all finished up and public soon before these guys hack the Pre until it’s a steaming pile of silicon made to do their bidding.

Does this mean that the Nascar hacked application shown in the photo no longer does its thing and it's only using precious space? Can it be deleted?
Is it me or is PC World the most worthless mag ever?
Uhm, sure, not sure what it has to do with this article, but magazines themselves are in danger of become quite worthless due to sites like PreCentral and Engadget and the like. 'Tis the new media, for better or worse.
[standing ovation]
Can anyone say..... ClamAV
yes, I've love to see them figure out how to remove that nascar app. I also love that this will hopefully push palm to release the sdk as soon as possible. Maybe we'll see a video recording app soon as well.
Can PreFart be far behind? (Now do not be suspecting me of a pun, I entreat)
I just want tethering...
amen! If these people can hack it to do tethering and hopefully a VNC (or Logmein) app pretty soon, I'll be a VERY happy camper.
I want visual voicemail...
