Like Jon Rubinstein? Like watching him talk in vague terms about what's in store for "the coming months?" If you missed the talk live and our wrap-up article didn't satiate your hunger for all things Ruby then take heart, All Things D has posted the video in its entirety. Perhaps you can glean more information about HP's upcoming cloud integration plans than we could - "A unified experience on all your devices is very important" can be read several different ways and while we still have our pet theories, why don't you fill us in on yours in the comments?

As time goes on I like him less and less. I can't help but think he was the main reason for Palm's failure, if only by allowing that horrible marketing campaign.
Jon and palm in general really seem to do A LOT of talking for a company that never has anything to show off.
Wow, it is amazing how excited some people get when there is no news.
HP isn't curing cancer...so "why so serious!"
Actually, I love Rubi...think he perfect for the HP business culture he now lives in and provides as much information as he can without giving up the bank.
Technology is a feeding frenzy of sharks waiting to steal something useful from someone else (like RIM and their latest OS offerings coming in the Playbook) and make it sound like they invented it.
Why should Palm announce anything, come out with something new that no one else thought of and BAM...now everyone is offering it served on a Silver Platter.
I'd love some good news, tidbit coming at CES2011, and am looking forward to January. Till then I'm still hoping for a Christmas Surprise in the way of webOS 2.1 coming from Sprint in just a few days. HPalm loves giving OS updates as a Free Gift, what better time then before the end of the year! Sorli...
well said
we all want to know what's going on, but it's not going to happen.
i'm sorry if that's not good enough for some people. If Jon could tell some information, i'm sure he would.
something I haven't heard before in reports, but he said it in this interview:
"we are a global business unit... responsible for webos based mobile devices today. So that's smartphones, tablets, NETBOOKS..."
Sure do wish I could watch the video, but since I STILL DO NOT HAVE ADOBE FLASH on my Pre, I cannot. Can't you people at Pre Central post videos in a format that people with the Pre can watch on the Pre??? I am, however still looking forward to getting Flash on my Pre in the coming years...
I'll watch this right before bedtime.. It will surely knock me out to sleep.. Yawn...
It will put you to sleep by the 15 minute mark but the damn tone at the end will wake you. (I was napping so nicely too)
I'm planning on watching this "in the coming months"......
Isn't this the fourth or fifth time P|C has posted something about All Things D? How many times do you have to recycle the same story? Plus, I really don't think anyone wants to hear Kara speak again...
What I would like to know is once I own a Palmpad as I know I will be getting one is will I be able to have the same palm profile on that and my pre. So I dont have to buy all my apps again, the synergy should sync the devices.
dont remember hearing anyone discussing multiple devises before
im sure they are working hard on getting all those details sorted out and will let you know in the coming months.......
It's only logical that they will do this. Imagine the backlash if a lot of people buy their new phones, then they also want to buy PalmPad but find out the apps they bought aren't linked to their PalmPad. If they don't allow it, it will be a big fail.
I've lost track, can someone please count the number of time he says "Variiiiiiiiiety"?
That is a great point and would be a huge selling point. If your profile was linked to apps and every webOS device you owned would have access to those apps for no additional charge.
I think there are some huge things in the works and the info blackout and zipped lips are the result of their not wanting to give any extra time to the people who will undoubtedly copy them (e.g. blackberry). That is my glass half full thinking anyway.
It's a good thing other companies were secretive with their technology otherwise Palm would have copied things like pinch to zoom and actively try to hack their way into iTunes sync. I'm glad that didn't happen.
The fact that everybody does it does not dispute anything. If HP has some great ideas in the works, they want to have them exclusively for a little while before they get copied.
So who has been a better CEO overall Cooligan or Rubi?
HP and Palm will be present at CES2011. I don't know ppl keep saying that Palm won't be there. So if palm there, what else will the be presenting other then hardware.

aw man that sucks that my first comment got removed!!!!......
Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah...No offense John, but at this point I'd rather hear nothing until "in the coming months" are here!
This talk with Rubinstein is significant for indicating that the tech industry is still interested what Palm/webos/HP does. This isn't a place to announce products or drum up support for your products with consumer fans but to see what the more respected insders think about the future trends in tech. That's a minor positive thing which shows that some smart people still think webOS is relevant.
This interview was nothing negative. He's not allowed to say anything for upcoming devices. Pick up on the hints throughout thou that he did sneak in.
Rubi is not a CEO now, he has bosses that he reports too. He's just a VP.
For people that think Palm/HP owes something to you for being a first time buyer, think again. HP is a public company. They have shareholders to please, not consumers.
All you have to do is listen to what he has to say, who cares if he says "coming months"... obviously that's all he's allowed to say.. read his body language. A lot more positive output on what's coming up.
yeah, I'm sure if he can give an info he would give one but it is probably just one of HP-Palm policy not to disclose anything until thing has been finalised. I believed he is as much as excited to let us know what's and when things will be in store as much as we are dying to know what and when they are coming.
One side thing, along those improvement of webOS I hope they would plan how to minimize an open application that we planned to keep them running in the background. It is just too clustering to have them right on the top of the desktop all the time.
A JUST-SHAKE to minimize/clear the desktop will be an excellent idea..
Dude looks like a Gargoyle tryin to sell life insurance! No wonder Palm went belly up!
I have the HTC EVO now because the Pre was just not cutting it anymore and was thinking of EVO as a filler phone until the new hot webos phone comes out. After looking at this interview I've decided I only care about a new palm phone if a) its mind-blowing and makes me want to spit at my evo or b) Rubi steps down because he has lost all sense of ingenuity and is absolutely clueless to what the mobile market wants and needs.
