GeoStrings gives you the ability to set location-based reminders that will alert you when you are close to a location where you need to perform a task.
GeoStrings provides an elegant, intuitive interface with a plethora of advanced customization options including date/time filtering, day of the week alerting, customizable snooze settings & alarm notifications, custom wallpapers and background colors, as well as the ability to add multiple locations to a GeoString reminder.
GeoStrings also automatically saves all of your reminders and locations into a searchable history list, as well as provides you the ability to define favorite reminders, locations, and custom location groups.
GeoStrings also has a unique interactive help system built directly into the app.
On any screen tap the "?" icon located at the top-right corner of the screen to view a series of help balloons that will give you a detailed description of all the screen's hot spots.
GeoStrings is a powerful tool you'll use on a daily basis. It'll forever change the way you manage your day-to-day tasks. In the past, people would tie strings on their fingers to remind them of their tasks. Today, leveraging the unique abilities of the webOS mobile platform, GeoStrings is your modern-day, location-aware string-on-your-finger that will never let you forget another task again.
*** NEW IN VERSION 1.1.6: Add an option on the Preferences screen to blink the device's notification light when an alert is activated. This option is only available when the 'notification type' is set to 'standard' and is set by default. ***

This is a wonderful app, it is very much worth the cost, and more.
I don't exactly agree that it is for the "forgetful" as mentioned in the review, the app will help you remember stuff most people would have trouble remembering (because of the number of things it can help you do), when you are focused on other matters.
If you truly use the app, it can save you endless amounts of time.
What an excellent idea! :D I'll probably purchase this app when I get my Palm Pre back from o2 Repair.
I know it's just an app spotlight feature, so it's understandable that it only scratches the surface of how amazing this app is.
Things I love:
- Multiple ways to set a location, even tapping on a spot on a map.
- Location groups - Search for "Walgreen's" and a list comes up. Save the whole list as a group, so next time you need Tylenol, it'll buzz you if you're near *any* Walgreen's in the area. Or set a group of your most common locations. Work, Home, School for example.
- User selectable backgrounds
- *BAR NONE* the best use of the dashboard on webOS. Utterly gorgeous. I tweeted a screenshot about this because it's so amazing: http://yfrog.com/ccv3np
This app kicks ass. Not only a great app, but a great developer.
Great functionality but in desperate need of a usability make-over.
If you have any specific ideas on ways to improve the usability of the app, feel free to send them to me (either on the PreCentral Hedami developer forum or via the Feedback Email link found on the app's help screen). I take into consideration every single request sent to me and have made many improvements to the app as a result.
Also make sure you check out the interactive help system ("?" icon in the top-right corner of every screen) if you have questions on how to use certain features of the app. And on the app's Help screen you'll find a video tutorial section with videos viewable directly on (and formatted for) the phone.
"I take into consideration every single request sent to me and have made many improvements to the app as a result."
I have been using this app since it was in beta and can say that Dan is in fact in the top 5 of the best webOS developers (there are a few that I think are just incredible, hate picking "the best"), he is truly very responsive to every single question, suggestion, support request, without limitation. I could not purchase the app fast enough when the paid version came out.
Other than contact management apps, this might be the most used app I have.
