Hardware Customization, Theme Talk, and More... From the Forums 11

by Robert Werlinger Wed, 26 May 2010 10:48 am EDT

Here's some of the latest talk in the forums:

  • User gsx decided that they wanted to add a custom Carbon overlay to the back of their Pre, and created a step-by-step guide if you should decide to.
  • Palm's developer relations team has done an excellent job with the Facebook app over the last several months, but cmoneyct wants to know if you still use the full-on site instead of the webOS app.
  • Themes.  Many of you know them, some of you love them, and member pelikan3 is wondering if they're worth all the trouble.
  • radiorob123 is in the market for a new smartphone and has the million dollar question: buy a Pre Plus now, or wait to see what's just around the pike in terms of new webOS hardware?

We look forward to seeing you in the forums!  Not a member?  Join us!

Good information...Thanks

I no longer use the Facebook site. Before the app, I always used it instead of the mobile site.

And in regards to themes... I don't think they're any trouble. Preware is dead simple to use, so I don't see why you wouldn't customize your phone.

anytime I meet someone with a pre I offer to put preware on it for them. To me, the pre is unusable without it. I have over 100 preware apps patches utilities and theme downloaded. But trying to use this phone without the overclock is a joke especially if you get accustomed to the swiftness

I always enjoy the 'from the fourms' breakdown

Too bad there isn't a "step-by-step" guide for the faux carbon-fiber battery cover...

But thanks for playing!

One day I'll be highlighted on "From The Forums". I'll show you. I'll SHOW YOU ALL.

I just received a $150 upgrade bonus from Sprint for my Pre Plus. I have only had it for about 9 months and did the 2 year deal when I got the Pre. Is Sprint trying to get people to jump to the new HTC phone and dump the Pre? Has anyone else with Sprint had this same thing happen?

Hmm, if they can make more money off the EVO for a new 4G plan, then yeah, I can see them enticing customers to switch.

What do you mean Sprint Pre Plus? I haven't been on the forums for a while. Did I miss something? Did Sprint release the Pre Plus?
