How to Get a Twitchy, Pre-Release Version of Google Latitude on webOS Without a Patch

by Dieter Bohn Thu, 17 Dec 2009 11:48 am EST

Tuesday we detailed how you could get Google Latitude up and running on webOS by spoofing the iPhone user agent.  Turns out no patch is needed to get a preview of what's coming soon for webOS. Instead, just head here on your Pre:

http://maps.google.com/maps/m?mode=latitude

As with the previous method, it'll launch Google Maps into a list of your latitude friends. You can poke around a bit but as we mentioned before, what we're looking at here clearly isn't quite ready for prime time as it will eventually just sort of turn itself off. Some features do work, though (for example, I just accepted a friend request).

In other words, don't go assigning blame for it being twitchy, just be happy knowing that it should be coming soon for really real.

Thanks to everybody who sent this in and thanks especially to evan410 for finding the new url!
