Keyboard shortcut to take a Screenshot Taking a screenshot or screen capture on your Palm Pre or Palm Pixi is easy. Simply press Option (orange or silver key) + Sym + P at the same time.  You will find a copy of the screenshot (as a .png file) in the "Screen captures” folder in the Photos app and the "screencaptures" directory on your USB Drive.

Though I already knew this one, these are the types of tips I like to see on things like this. It is harder to find out how to do screen shots and other things that are not readily obvious just by playing around with the device.

Thanks for this section and I look forward to checking these often.

This also works as a quick-and-dirty method for cropping photos. Just zoom in, then take a screen shot.

This info is already part of the built in help file on the pre. There is a tremendous amount of helpful information there.

I know, but most people don't read that. or, people don't have the time (or inclination) to read the whole manual..that is why we thought this daily tip would be helpful. all the same info, but less of a commitment! :-)

Thank you!! This is very helpful!

This is really cool. I did not know there was suck a feature. Can't think of what screens I want to save just yet but I'm sure I'll think of something!

I made a memo of this on my phone so I can retrieve it when I need it... memory isn't what it used to be! GREAT tip! Thanks.

AWESOME !! Thanks for the tip.

This is the kind of information that should have been in the (joke of a) manual from Palm.

This is great. I found out about it through the "paintr lite" application.

Are there any other double-secret features we don't know about?

Thanks for the tip, even though I have had the pre for nearly a year, I never knew how to do this.

Am I the only person who finds this key combination exceedingly difficult to do without dropping my phone?

using both hands helps !

This is how I feel. pushing three buttons at once is difficult even with two hands.

I have a question. Does this way of taking screen shots work for taking pic. from say an YouTube video file ? It didn't for my Pre-Plus phone from Verizon.

Thanks for the tip. had been looking for this tip for a while.

For HP TouchPad, press middle home button + power button to capture screenshot.

I am either extremely uncoordinated, or the key sequence no longer works. I am WebOS 1.4.5 on a Pre and try as I may, I cannot seem to capture a screenshot.

Any help? Is the key sequence still valid?

Ahh, I just wasn't scrolling down far enough in my list of photo albums. Neither non-functional or uncoordinated, just dense.
