HP is hosting a call for investors and analysts at 5pm. We'll be liveblogging it - stay tuned.
So happy right now! Arg why isn't it 5 yet?
XD 12 more minutes x____x
OK... Now we've got proper financial backing and a powerful branding... lets not f!3k it up this time... GO WEBOS!
Only thing I'm bummed about is I'll lose money on the stock. Stoked about the acquisition though!

I just hope it doesn't all move to tablets/computers... I still want WebOS on smartphones please!!
Wow. Just, wow.
HP rejuvenated Compaq's line of products, and Compaq was a terrible company.
Let's hope they can do even better with a solid start-point.
There's a picture of an HP tablet next to the Pre and Pixi in HP's slideshow. Surely that's a hint of what they want to do with WebOS next, right? :-D
hp is doubling-down on palm. is ok that i'm giggling like a little girl right now?

I think that HP's constant advertising on a Palm fansite may have foreshadowed this all.
I was already planning on getting the HP tablet....no way they are going to switch to WebOS at this late date, but I sure can see a future version running WebOS.
The HP Slate tablet, which runs Windows 7, has a base price of $549, and a higher-end version costs $599.
I may wait now and see how long before the WebOS version comes out.
Unless Palm already has something in the works (C-40) for a new phone or tablet, I would be surprised if they could develop a new product in less than a year. It will take a qtr or two just to close the deal.
Will we get Microsoft Office editing support now?!!! Surely will have to for any Slate type product.
So much WebOS news. I think the PalmCast will be extra long next week :)
This is going to be great for Palm/webOS. HP currently has over $13 billion in cash and looks like they want to pump a ton of money into making webOS better!
Any way to view these live blogs on the Pre browser? Existing plugin doesn't work correctly...
Let's see what DataViz has to say now!
This made me chuckle.
I sure hope HP keeps webOS and a good set of products. The Treo line was some very well-built phones. Pre, not so much... and, speaking as someone who used to work at a computer repair shop exclusively for HP, all I can say is that I sure hope they don't turn webOS/Palm into crappy bloatware!
Are their phones going to be HP branded or Palm branded or HP/Palm?
I like the idea of the big, rich HP backing Palm. But I hope this doesn't alter the original path of Palm's products and WebOS too much.
On the surface it sounds very exciting but time will tell.
After listening to the phone confe and reading engadget, Gotta give a Wooooo-Whoooooo
So awesome!!!! Now use some of that money to advertise the crap out of WebOS and Palm and HP will have the hit they want on there hands
