HP to present to analysts on Tuesday; CEO announcement unlikely? 15
HP is holding its Securities Analyst Meeting 2010 this coming Tuesday, September 28th, 2010, beginning at 1:00 pm PT (and preceded by an "innovation showcase" at 12 noon PT). This is not a standard investor quarterly conference call; this is a full event including 3 1/2 hours of "Executive Presentations," Q&A, and even a reception afterward. While at least one analyst quoted in TheStreet.com doesn't expect a CEO announcement at the meeting, it will likely be a subject of discussion, as hopefully will be the near future of webOS smartphones and devices.
The complete agenda for the event, and instructions on how to tune into the Webcast, are available in the Investor Relations section of HP's Web site. We will certainly be keeping an ear out for any announcements or even veiled hints relevant to our community, so watch the site on Tuesday.

I would like some announcements/hints. :)
HP needs to play the Apple "stolen phone" game to spark some interest.
They've got to at least hint. Microsoft is announcing next month.
Who cares about a CEO....we want a phone announcement!!! :P
Best case scenario: they give invitations or provide some details of a future Palm press conference.
Good case scenario: they hint of a press conference in the next month or two.
Most likely scenario: no mention of any timeline for announcements, they only reiterate they are working on products and will be making announcements "soon".
Ummm my best case scenario is that they announce the new HP pre 2 with a 3.7 inch display and everyone who bought a pre and is still using it gets a free pre 2 for being so loyal. They also announce the pre HD 10 inch tablet that goes on sale immediately. That seems more best case scenario to me.
Haha! I'd love that too, but it sounds more like unicornland best case scenario. No offense meant. I think reality best case scenario is an announcement of a date for a new phone & some hardware first looks. But I think that would be really doubtful.

I think we are very close to a demo of webOS 2.0
Am I the only person who is excited for the "innovation showcase," is there any chance we'll see a new phone, or will we jut get to stare at some toys that are 5-10 years off in the future?
Why doesnt one of you guys go to the conference, makes sense in case the announce something good.

I hope the hear very goon news not just what web 2.o actually is, also to get a look and see the new phones, pads, etc....along with a sell date...I agree with other posters. CEO news is not as important to me, (although Wall street may feel otherwise)!

I understand it is this Tuesday but I would think if you are going to have the rest of the date you would include the day designation.
