If you have been wondering who DA MAN is, we're here to tell you: it's PreCentral reader Adam, who is sending in video from HP's webOS CONNECT event in London just as fast as he can shoot it with his Palm Pre. The latest missive from across the pond is a promo video for the TouchPad HP has looping at the event. Done up as a rather cute whiteboard animation, it shows the major features of the TouchPad - from multitasking card stacks to synergy to notifications to Touch-to-Share to answering phone calls on the TouchPad.

50 seconds in, it also shows a Just Type universal search implementation that's a little different from what we expected - smaller and up in the upper lefthand corner where it doesn't occlude the entire screen. We'd be tempted to read into that, but the video also shows the TouchPad being set on a cylindrical TouchStone for charging instead of the TouchPad dock we've already seen, which doesn't seem likely to happen for realsies if you ask us.

The tagline for the whole thing reads "Mission: To build a mobile device that operates the way that you do and helps you do what you want to do and get to what you want to get to." That's the kind of run-on sentence the lackluster grammarians here at PreCentral can get behind.

Thanks again, Adam!

This video >>>>>>>>>> Creepy girl video

I was thinking that HP should advertise WebOS in Spanish speaking countries as easter eggs. Since webos translates to eggs.

hahah this video kicks any ads HP or Plam had EVER come out with lol

Wow, I have to say- good vid... get that out there HP get it on peoples TVs and those F-ing annoying combo banner adds you see on sites- where the horozontal top add interacts with the side bar add - and sometimes (dont!) take up the whole screen.

Did anyone else notice that the imaginary Touchpad was placed on an imaginary touchstone puck? So it's possible that the device is compatible with a puck and one of those touchstone "docks" they've mentioned before. Just guessing..

I wouldn't see why not. I don't know why Dieter discounted it so quick. It's the same technology I, is it not?

Nice video!

Sweet! Sorli...

Nice video!

It was really good in person.

Not sure it'd work as an Advert, however short extracts similar to this definitely would.

I can see it sort of transitioning between this and the actual interface. Would be pretty cool.

I did see it loop about 100 times before the event actually started though.

Grammatically, it isn't a run-on sentence. O.o? Stylistically, maybe, but not grammatically.

Thank you. Run-ons have more than 2 independent clauses. This doesn't even have one.

I think you could get rid of or abbreviate the 1st part & make an advert out of it.

Put a nice soft song to that video and we have a good webOS ad for TV.

Very nice!!

This Video to the soundtrack of "Salt Peanuts" = LOVE!

okay, push THIS out to TV commercials ... and forget the rest
