HP Veer, Pre3 and TouchPad teased on HP's site 24

Well, lookie here -- it's the HP Veer. And Pre 3. And TouchPad. All teased on HP's shopping page, just ahead of today's liveblog.
The TouchPad, as we all know, is the webOS tablet we're about to get dunked on our heads. The Pre 3 looks like it'll be a sorely needed update to our favorite smartphone.
And the Veer? It's being referred to as a "teen phone." It'll be GSM only (hello, AT&T and maybe, possibly T-Mobile?), and we're being told it's got a slightly wonky USB connector. We'll just have to see.
More on all these as we get 'em. [via @derSnemelc]
Update: Looks like Robert Scoble got a sneak peek. He writes,
The smallest little phone I’ve ever seen. It’s like a large pebble in your hand. Smooth and really nice to hold.
This still sucks as a competitor for the iPhone or Android.
But they’ve made it so small now that the thing I hated (small screen, which isn’t good for really doing work) is now an attribute.

SPRINT please!!!!!
PRE 3!!!
Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalm!
Good job HP/Palm (and PreCentral and its community for the good reporting).
Looks like you are doing a smart launch with strong products for key markets,
nice to find our belief in HP/Palm rewarded.
the last hour of waiting is always so painful. i guess i should go do something to make the time pass by more quickly.
Wow, the "Veer" name really sucks... the "Bieber" would have been so much better. But I have had my unlocked Pre2 for just two months, so glad to see Bradley's promise to have a new phone (Pre 3) every two months is coming true already - hahaaaahhh !! Don't need any new version myself, the Pre2 is awesome, MUCH better and more fun than any iPhone I have ever had !! Go HP !
This looks real nice. I can't wait for the details, but a nice start. Not a homerun, but a solid double.
Isn't that Pre cubed?
Sweet keep it coming!!
im so excited i hope..... i think i hope...
did I miss the innovation?
The Pre3, if you compare it to the tablet, looks to be like a PreHD. Its also longer than the original Pre. The TouchPad has 6 apps in the dock which is good because I didn't want any stupid 4 across like the iPad.
VeerCentral.net/touchpad ??
Wow. Palm so didn't come to play with the big boys today...
No 4" screen?
No 4g (notpaying an extra $10 on sprint w/o 4g)?
2008 ram specs?. 8 or 16gb with a card slot or 32gb on board
No card slot? Still?
Same boring design. I'd take a venue pro any day.
What happened to a more robust Pixi? Tiny slider? Really? Two phones with the same form factor? No slate or treo style?
After Sprint's echo debacle I was hoping for something cool from HP, but I don't see any HP influence at all. I see the same lame Palm. And this summer? When everyone else is at 4" + and dual core with on board memory and a card slot.
They hd a chance to hit it out of the park. They had so much time. And this is it...
Why would you WANT something that big and bulky in your pants pocket?
weak ass phones i just don't get it this will not get them back in the game they will be behind everyone just like they are now. great os still on crap hardware shocked they didn't try to put a keyboard on the touch pad which sounds awesome but will they have software and games for it with everyone making stuff for Android Apple and Microsoft. even wp7 has more apps then palm and it hasnt been out very long
Pre3 Video and Info!

huge fail! The first 2 Pres eventually bombed so why bring a 3rd? Should have put it in a new case and called it something else. And wheres the mansion?? Good lookin out for the tweens by releasing a tiny phone lol. Us adults want more! Looks like it's time for an EVO or iPhone for me. 6000 apps?? Really? Android has over 200,000. Webos will never be recognized like iOs or android in the app world, which will eventually kill it
I think a small, convenient dataphone (veer) with a tablet or my tiny tablet laptop will make an awesome combination. I don't need a big screen if I have a tablet with me. I'm always connected digitally if I have hotspot phone and a tablet or small computer. And when I just want to stuff a phone in my pocket or bag I want is as small as possible.
I think the combo is brilliant.
Much better than lugging around a huge phone trying to be a small computer.
@nurgling
yes, you must have missed the innovation. I saw quite a bit of innovation, even without a webOS toaster...
*sigh* I am torn between my love of the OS and my disdain for the hardware they hamper it with. These would have been impressive devices a year ago. Heck, they'd be impressive if they were hitting the market next month, but they'll be ousted by Apple and Android before Fall. Also, what the heck happened to devices being released in "weeks?" I know I'm not the only person saying this.
All along, my biggest grievance with HP/Palm and Sprint is that those of us who were early adopters of webOS have been left out in the cold. We've been given no encouragement, no promise of future devices, and not even the closure of telling us there won't be another webOS device on Sprint. That would be better than letting me cling to my nearly 2 year old phone with nothing promising on the horizon. I was REALLY waiting for a Sprint rep to take the stage today with something spectacular to say. I mean, the Pre3 is stated to be released in both GSM and EVDO versions, but EVDO does not guarantee Sprint as the phone will no doubt be marketed outside the US. All this time, hoping and waiting and we get nothing at all? I am genuinely heartbroken. I'm heartbroken that I have to wait another 4+ months for even the possibility of a new webOS device and I have no guarantee that one will be made available on Sprint. I've been a Sprint customer since I was 17. Nearly 10 years I've had the same phone number and have stood by Sprint and for the first time in those 10 years, I am seriously taking a long, hard look at Verizon (still steering wide of AT&T...I'm desperate, not stupid).
Today felt like a Christmas where I didn't get anything I wanted. I sat around and watched everyone else get really neat stuff and I didn't get anything. I love Palm and I love HP. Their merger was divinely orchestrated as far as I was concerned. I've stood by both brands as well as Sprint for the whole of my adult life (and I had several Palm devices when I was still in high school). Now I am losing patience with them all. The problems were so obvious and the solutions so simple. How could they have so thoroughly missed the mark?
I don't know what the fallout from this will be, but I can't guarantee my support for Palm, HP, or Sprint much longer. My Sprint contract ends in 5 months. They have until then to prove themselves.
If they're touting the Veer as their teen phone, they better have a way to accessorize it. That seems big with the teen crowd (back and front plates, covers, tassles, etc.). Also, the wallpapers and ringtones should be catchy for teens. Have they done their market study?
i think i've not seen any OS user group like webos's.. But your voices will be heard cos palm (eventually HP) knows this is the culture of webos and they value us as a user cum their OS lovers!
I will hv no doubt dat HP will do their best in promoting n introducing new handsets. Look @ iPaqs, they rocked my teenhood! They don't pay 1.2 billion like chelsea paid 50m for torres.. So ppl, be patient :)
