Just Type: Reorder items [webOS 2.x] 6

by Adam Marks Wed, 06 Apr 2011 9:02 pm EDT

This tip is only for devices running webOS 2.0 and higher

Now that you have learned how to add and remove items from your Just Type options, you will want to reorder them so that you most often used items are on top.  This is important since only the first three options in each Just Type section are initially visible, while you will need to press the "+ More..." option to see the remaining options.

Rearranging Just Type options is done exactly as you would rearrange any other list in webOS.  First, however, you need to go into Just Type preferences by typing anything into a Just Type search, scrolling to the bottom of all the Just Type options and selecting the Preferences option.  Once in Just Type Preferences, you will see all the Just Type options you currently have added, in the order that they will appear during a Just Type search.  To rearrange the items, just press-and-hold on the item you want to move until it turns semi-transparent.  Then, just drag it to the position you want and let go.  The next time you perform a Just Type search, you will see the options in that new order

Unfortunately there appears to be a bug in webOS 2.1 (at least on my device) that prevents re-ordering from sticking. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone else have this issue?

I have the exact same issue on my Sprint Pre Minus webOS 2.1.

ditto
(Vz Pre+ 2.1)

Yep, has never held the setting.. :(

Same here, doesn't hold the setting

Oh great... So this is not fixed in 2.1. How many other of the myriad of bugs have pass over from 2.0 to 2.1. This is just absurd. Google synergy is virtually useless on my Pre 2. I won't even take the time to list all the fricken bugs in 2.0. It's no wonder why HPalm is losing so many customers. Lack of new products... Lack of execution... Lack of communication... And to top it off they have broken most of their major features with 2.0

I wonder what will and will not work with the Pre 3 running what ever version WEBOS it comes out with.
