For any student of the LDS scriptures, this is a dream come true. It is very, very fast, and easy to use. It includes all the footnotes, the topical guide etc. I can't find anything I don't like about it.
The worst part about this app is that the description doesn't tell you everything it does. Text turns to landscape when the phone is. Tap a verse to get the footnotes then tap the reference to go to it. You can navigate back with the back gesture. It has a history page that remembers the last few chapters you've looked at. There is an auto-scroll button for handsfree reading. You can highlight and bookmark verses. All the Standard Works, Topical Guide, Bible Dictionary, Gospel Principles manual, OT Sunday School student guide, and April 2010 Conference is included.
Note that it is a LARGE download and then takes some time to install. Be patient.
Just downloaded and played for a second. Love it love it love it! thank you to everyone that contributed to make a great app!
this app rocks, I can't wait to have the hymns on here also.
I love this app. I can zoom to the scriptures during lessons and use the history button when going back and forth to scriptures.
Last time I checked, the Gospel Principles manual is the old version. That doesn't help me when I'm giving a lesson. As a matter of fact, it makes me look like a complete idiot. (i.e. I looked like an idiot)
How do we get the other manuals and the recent October Conference on it? I'd like OT Teacher's Manual, new Duty To God, YM and YW manuals, Preach My Gospel, etc.
Why is the Oct 2009 conference on there but the most recent (Oct 2010) not? The update is great though with all the new content. Now, if conference and hymns were on there....
It looks to me like the gospel library for webos 1.4.5 was just removed from the palm apps store and replaced with the 2.0 version. Does anyone know a way to download the 1.4.5 version, or know someone who can get the 1.4.5 version put back in the apps store? I just bought a Pixi Plus for my wife, which can't update to webos 2.0, so this is a big problem.
Thanks.
Yeah @travishubble - my app on my pixi plus was actually deleted from my phone without even knowing. Now I don't have it and can't get it back. not cool. I posted a question about it on the Facebook LDS Mobile apps wall, so we'll see if they respond. Maybe they're going to work on restoring the old one.
The exact same thing happened to me this weekend (in the middle of a Sunday School lesson). If you hear of anything please post it - I've got to get it back, I can't imagine going back to the Centro's options (mobi, myscriptures, etc) they were limited. (but were actually pretty fast).
Now I've got to get that TouchPad somewhere.
anyone know if this software is being updated to support the Touchpad (webos 3)? The version I downloaded from the Palm Store doesn't run full screen on the touchpad - rather it's in some type of small emulator.
I loved this app on my Palm Pre Plus - only hope it could be available full screen for the Touchpad!
Does anyone know if/when gospel library will be back in the palm app catalog for web os 1.45? Does anyone know how to manually install the app without using the palm app store?
Thanks.
