I actually went and watched all the videos, they are put together quite well even though its all re hashed news.
I wish it had a leaks section or something new.
I'll put that forward to the guys and see if they're up for it. I don't disagree with you on that. I'd like to have ONE piece of original content for the show. Would you watch an extra 30 seconds to 1 minute if it was original?

Pre 3 has been pushed from summer release to fall release.
The pre3 will not support 4G
No announcements of release date and carriers for the pre3. It will most likely not be available on Sprint.
The hardware will be outdated when it is released
It will be released at the same price as the iphone 5.
Oh and there is still no news of a webos slate phone.
But hey! tablets are out at $500 and due to lack of sales (because of the high price) the prices will slowly drop! (fingers crossed)
I think that about covers our news.
You forgot to mention the TouchPad 4g is due out soon which effectively turns the 1st TouchPad into the "TouchPad Minus" and those who bought it into "Early Adopters". Us Sprint users see how well "Early Adopters" are treated...

haha was that really intended? that's definitely a segment of the show you need to keep. subliminal naughty messages. Don't worry I'll keep doing my part and make a joke of it in the comments.
She must be reading comments...She listened (or seemed to at least) to the makeup and "Bro hands" comments.
She looks 10x better and the hands have been toned down considerably. The lighting still needs a little help but this is MUCH better than the other videos.

I do listen to the comments -- last week I forgot like an idiot to finish my makeup (hence the washed out giant head of mine), but I did make an effort this week to keep my man hands out of the shot. :)
As far as the news I deliver, I take the links I'm given by the heads of state (Kevin, Dan, Derek, Rene, and Phil) and choose one or two for each week's show. So I try to do my best to pick out the one I can speak about comfortably. It took a LOT of takes last week to get Ruby's new title right!!

Don't mind the haters, they're afraid of anything different. The info in your vids is fine and you are doing a great job.
I still think the makeup and lighting issue needs more attention. You weren't as "shiny" this week but you've got a light that is still blowing out highlights on your face. If you're doing all of this yourself then kudos to you, but get some professional advice to address these issues. If you have professionals doing this for you... well, without trying to sound like an a-hole they are not doing a very good job making you look the best you can look.

I do all of this myself -- from makeup to hair to pre and post-production. I did go to school for it, but unfortunately, the room I shoot in is entirely to small for a green screen set (especially the huge one I shoot on). I'll attempt to bring down my key light, but generally speaking, it's tough to do so when you run out of space in the room to move the lights farther back. :)
The only professional not doing a very good job is me! I went to school for TV production, so I'm well-schooled in it, but at the end of the day, I gotta just work with what I have. Which will hopefully get better as time goes on and I can upgrade gear, etc.
I got some great advice last week on getting a boom light to help with backlighting -- and I'm always up for constructive critique. Like I said, I do listen to feedback when it's helpful.
You might try a bigger diffuser for your key light. That will help soften the highlights and will brighten the scene overall. They're fairly cheap.
Absolutely -- I have a diffuser on it now, but I think what I'll do is go 50% on the lights (there are four in my key light). Maybe I'll grab the second diffuser for inside the light (it goes in between the main diffuser and the bulbs) and try that, too. Thanks!
Ashley, the room acoustics makes it sound like you're standing in a jail cell. I think some acoustic baffling might help. If you are actually making the videos from your jail cell then do I apologize and hang in there.

(I actually have ordered some acoustic foam to help with that until I can find the wireless mic kit I have laying around somewhere...)

Yeah, I gotta hand it to her for taking all the hate in stride. You need a thick skin if you're making yourself available to the internet and she's doing very well.

As for merging OS's, I don't know. I think where useful you'll see cross over between somethings but phones and tablets are meant to be touch screens now and desktops are not. So to the extent the mobile element is touch based moving it over to the desktop may just not work well and may piss off users. In the same way desktop stuff on a tablet just pissied off people because it wasn't built for fingers and was kinda clunky. (funny Glee pre commerical just came on my tv)
But i think design elements like drop down notifications could transfer. Then again, it's not like windows never had notifications at the bottom. Just not everything. As for Windows 8, Well the first thing i'd do is turn that metro look off.
I just think a lot of people are going to be super pissed when Metro becomes super clunky if you don't have a touchscreen monitor. And to be honest... do I need/want to replace my Samsung 24" dual screen setup? No. Do not want!
I like the idea of Metro -- I think it gives people something very different to look at -- however, it's going to take something huge to make it mainstream, which is why I was interested in the WP story this week.
metro is not for me but it's not horrible. it's pretty slick on a phone. But i don't really want a touch screen desktop. And desktops are kinda going away anyways. 70% of apple's computers sales last quarter where notebooks. But i'm with you, i'll take the dual moniters and a mouse. Like i would not be fond of havign to poke my screen forever.
Bottom line i think someone will think they are exactly the same and try and just clone one to the other, desktop to tablet or vice versa. But in the end good ideas will stay, semi good ones will get altered so they work best for the platform an interface, and bad ones will get discarded.
Much improved from last week! Ashley and the content are great, but the lighting needs work.

You don't read the PreCentral comments very much, do you?
Say what you want. I think that overall, the community is kind and nice to people, most of the time.
The opening annimation is very professional looking, but the editing within the video could use a bit of extra production help. Something as simple as a 1/2 second annimation video between transitions would make a huge difference. (Think ESPN and some of the very short transition annimation clips they put between stories.) That way the editing doesn't seem as choppy - especially when you jump from one clip of yourself to another clip of yourself.
