In tandem with the release of webOS 1.3.1 this morning, Palm has announed on its Developer Network Blog an updated Mojo SDK framework, version 1.3.1. Some of the highlights from the update include Enhanced Pixi support in the emulator, an API to keep the screen from auto-dimming, auto-generation of app Help / Support scene, and developers familiar with the SDK documentation should appreciate this: numerous framework documentation enhancements. You can see the full release notes for Mojo SDK 1.3.1 here, and you can download the SDK here.

so does the new sdk provide acces to the mic...?

So does the new SDK provide access to the mic.......?If not why the hold up ...? Any particular reason..?
Sadly still no API for mic/voice input, and still horribly lacking on the bluetooth stack. ... Well one can hope Palm will figure out how important this is for the *next* update.
*foot tapping*
Trying to remain patient with the slow development of certain features of webOS...but video, full bluetooth support and full use of the hardware acceleration to speed up the graphics of basically everything on the device would really be nice =)
(I just want my pre to move all silky-smooth like this other not-to-be named phone I see others with)
like^
^agreed. After seeing many of these other new phones and the snappiness of the OS (mostly Android), I get jealous =( C'Mon Palm... I mean, it's understandable they have a small, *acute fraction of the staff from say, Google, Apple, and MS, but Geeez, you guys have some catching up to do (better SDK w/ better access to hardware, actually using the GPU, video recording, etc.).
If anything, 'Droid World will be my next stop, but still have hope and faith in the Great WebOS platform, and still #1 (to me).
Likes to the top!
I have hugeeeeeeeeeeeeee hopes for these features to be included in the next update, my gut tells me it`s gonna happen hahaha
Agreed. Flash wont be available in 2009, so one 'L'. Just need GPU access to get the Pre running smoother, and my worry meter will be on minimum. Vid cam is second place, but its not a necessity. I have a Flip MinoHD for that, and it all-importantly has.... HD video. 8-)
Problems that Palm needs to fix before I'm happy:
(1) Backup. Fix the online backups *and* provide an alternative solution. If you can't do this soon, shame shame for not renaming the company. Palm is not Palm without flawless backup.
(2) API for mic. A fairly easy problem to solve.
(3) GPU, of course. Get the OS using the GPU. I could care less about APIs for the GPU. I just want webOS to glide the way it's supposed to.
But, of course, you already knew we need all this stuff, right?
I have already given up on the Palm App catalog and Palm's ability to foster the kind of Apps i'd like. i'm kinda through with worrying about it. They are not coming. i'll just have to deal with what i've got. Anything from this point on i'll take as a happy bonus to my really low expectations.
What is it that this device can't do that so many people are having such a hard time getting through the day? The Pre does just as much as my old Treo 755p did with the exception of video recording and that's not a bid deal at all. There's just too much crying about this young device and OS by grown folks. You can make and receive calls, send and receive text and emails, take pix, play a few games, browes the web and so much more... STOP CRYING!!! Everything else beyond this point is butter...
cut & paste and work work between cards like windows on on a pc. impressive.
learn the phone. be happy.
Does anyone know if the 1.3.1 webos doctor has been released also? If so link please.
Did this release address any of the bugs in Novaterm? Most notably, can you copy/paste yet?
...yet?? Had it since Day 1, and has gotten better with the past few updates. Been on vacation...?! :-\
my novaterm still won't paste, :(
