Moving Emails to different Folders 6
While only the Inbox will automatically sync your emails, you can still keep your inbox clean my moving email to other folders within your account. While reading an email message, you need to either swipe down from the top-left corner of the screen to bring up the Email Application drop-down menu and select "Move To Folder..", or you can perform this via a Meta-tap by press-and-holding the Gesture Area and press the M key on the keyboard. This will bring up a list of your folders and you just need to select the folder where you want to move this message to.
- Note that you can't create folders from within the Email App on the device. You will need to do that from a desktop computer, or if you mail program has a website you can do this for from within the web browser.
- Unfortunately, there is no current "mass move" option for emails. You need to go into each email address and perform the move. If you have multiple moves that you need to perform, you may want to consider opening up the mobile website for your mail program in your web browser (if available) and perform the move there.

I'm big on filing (moving to a folder) my work email. Personal email on Gmail, I just leave in the inbox.
The problem I have with filing on WebOS email is that you can only file messages from the message view, but not from the list view (similar issue to the inability to manage multiple messages). I would love to see a patch that would allow a left-swipe to initiate the "Move to" dialog scene while keeping right-swipe as "Delete".
Does anyone know if moving messages to your bulk or spam folders works the same as the "mark as spam" button from the web version of your email provider? Or does it just put the message in the folder with them without flagging it to the system? Basically, will future emails from that account be recognized as spam if I move it to the spam folder on my Pre?
There is also a sweet patch that adds a folder icon next to the reply icon. Tap the icon and move the email.
None of the folders I've set up in my hotmail account through my computer show up on my pre plus. Any way to get them to show up, or any way to set up additional folders on my phone that would sync with my account? I tried the exchange setup for hotmail awhile back and I think all my folders showed up then, but changed back because of bugginess. If that's fixed, I'd try it again.
so the only thing I would like to see is the ability to search the folders when moving. I have a lot of folders and it is arduous skimming though all of them.
I am also big on filing my email and doing that on WebOS is still pretty painful despite having the patch that adds a folder icon next to the reply icon.
I agree with greenawayj that having a left-swipe to initiate a "Move To" would help tremendously with being to file more quickly.
Also, a mass move option (like the iPhone has) would also make it easier.
Hopefully someone at HP/Palm is listening..
