"My Palm Pre" Now Available for Preorder 18

Author and friend-of-the-site Craig Johnston let us know that his new book My Palm Pre (co-written with Joe Hutsko) from Que is now available for preorder (you should pardon the expression) at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It should also be hitting actual bookstore shelves between May 10th and 20th. It looks to be a useful guide for new webOS users.
Look forward to a full review once it is released!

...very interesting. This should stir up a lot of attention for webOS. I think it's great =)
Thank God some real exposure for Palm. Maybe folks will see the power behind this little giant of a device.
Down with Droid!!
what the heck?!? I wonder what the book is about? Love? Hate? Double keyboard presses? I would like to see the review...
Yeah, what's up with the double keyboard presses? My Pre+ seems to be doing that a lot lately... More so than when I got it.
Hm, my Sprint Pre never did it, but, starting after the 1.4.1.1 update, I've noticed that, occasionally, some of my intentional double keyboard presses get turned into a single keypress, so...for an example, "keypress" would become "keypres". It's rare enough that I'm not sure, but the fact that I think I've seen that now after that update vs. it *never* having come up prior to that (I got mine in July 2009) suggests to me that they tried a software tweak to alleviate the problem for those getting the double-types, and its unfortunate side effect seems to be the occasional "single-type" for maybe others who weren't suffering from the double-type problem.
Hopefully this book will sell well and find a prominent place on store shelves. Palm needs the visibility wherever it can get it.
Will it be available for Kindle or as an iBook? Oh, wait...
good concept, I can see the intro..."My Palm Pre" drives me up the wall, has no doc editing, full of promise and potential with little hope of substance, requires the genious of the homebrew community to be able to do the cool things.........
Is it available itunes?
LMFAO! I will help produce it to an audio book and then we can submit it to the iTunes store n harrass them into keeping it in front so they don't seem guilty of unfair sales tactics. Lol
I have my doubts that palm sold enough pre phones to gather the interest in this book needed to make it a modest seller or give palm any more exposure.
Will Palm still be around in May?
wow. Are you actually "trolling" these forums n not really someone who knows how great out device is? Go busy yourself doing goodwill or something sheeshhhhhh

I do goodwill everyday. I even help WebOS converts on AC make the transition, something I did 5 months ago. I've never been happier. I check this site still regularly to see if there is anything I can tell my girlfriend since she still has a pre. I think she's given up. She can't even turn off her phone (power button doesn't do anything), and she hasn't dropped it. I went through 5 POS Pre's and all my contacts lost in a Synergy Blackhole where no one at Palm knew wtf happened. I find a book like this amusing, so I post.
Your double post helps prove my point, the phone is still in alpha testing and still has major software flaws to go with the obvious hardware short-comings.
Its hard to believe Ruby about products in the pipeline when the obvious concern at Palm is, "Who can we sell ourselves to today?", not "Lets product another phone!"
Why, after all the bad press the Pre got after release, did they release another webos phone (pixi) with even lower functionality than the Pre? I mean, you guys still can't record audio, do bluetooth transfer, and you STILL have the too many cards error and no way to kill off runaway processes. Its been almost a year and development at Palm is slowly coming to a hault altogether. Ruby needs to just pack his bags. It was a nice run Palm, but your recent developments were innovative, but it was too little, too late. The public has spoken.
Make a book for developing with project Ares please!
maybe it's a murder-mystery! Lol how palm murdered the potential of webos, and the mystery of whether the company will even be in existence by the time one copy of the book sells! Lol hey I dunno if I've ever seen a book actually get published on the ins and outs of a cell phone! Really? The dummy book wasn't enough??!
That's really a good news!! I am really looking forward to buy this book as I have read review on the book. And they all said that it is a must read book for all the webOS users.
