New in the App Catalog for 02 November 2010 21

App Catalog Yesterday brought what we would now describe as a handful of apps, but a year ago would have looked at as an app bonanza. But most of the apps came from the folks at AppBookShop, and while we’re sure there’s a market for most of what they publish, we do have to wonder about the “All About...” books for chartering private jets and yachts. Really, if you’re chartering such things, chances are you’ll have somebody who knows what they’re doing to do the work for you. Well, we suppose they’d need to know how to do it, so maybe there is a market after all. Apps, new and updated, after the break.

Haha, I was wondering where all the app highlights were on the P/C main page. Then I look at the article and say, "no freaking wonder!" Almost all the new "apps" are Appbookshop crap apps...

Seriously I think App book is just scam made by palm to increase there App numbers. "Now we have close to 5K apps." I bet you anything either Palm makes them or pays the developer to make them.

The current crop off apps are great for the tech geek. Not interesting for the average smartphone users and not the sort of apps i expected when bought my pre.

If you read what I wrote, I said I'm not IMPRESSED with the news or apps lately. I made no mention of how slow or fast news was coming. But as someone else also mentioned, this is the tech industry - 6 months can make you obsolete.

Plus have you noticed these apps come more in number when other apps are not there, as if to make it look like news Apps are coming out everyday.

ABS (who also releases apps for iOS) dumps huge amounts of apps to Palm all at once. Palm then staggers the app releases. Dropping a couple hundred ABS apps all at once would just be a complete mess. Palm has done this with other app creators as well. It gives ABS a more steady stream of exposure and gives palm a more steady stream of app releases.

Im getting tired of everyone complaining, "there's no apps coming out." Developers are waiting for 2.0. No one is going to release an app for 1.4.5 just so it has to be updated when 2.0 comes out. Developers are already working on 2.0 apps. Calm down people,

what developers? Anything we want. ESPN? CNN? ETRADE? Yahoo sports? yahoo finance? ESPN Fantasy Football? Google Finance? You Tube updates? Amplitube? Photoshop? Tom Tom? Those? Or are the developers waiting on 2.0 the same people that are making the current crap apps we've been getting for a year. Cause i don't really care about "developers" as much as I care about companies wanting to make apps.

I'm tired of the entire year of people making excuses for the fact that there are no apps.

mundu IM have come up with a major upgrade with this version...
I wanna see more updates from it, as it is the only paid app I have and I'm fully satisfied with it :) But want more ;)
