After taking a day off on Thursday the App Catalog was back and running with fresh new apps yesterday. Sadly, the collection of newness wasn’t that big, but even with only eight new apps there’s still some stuff worth pointing out.
- Blokus HD - you may not have played the board game before, but even so you won’t be able to put down this combination of Uno meets cardboard.
- Big Red Buzzer gives you what you’ve always wanted, a way to shut people up with the press of a button. BZZZZZ, you’re wrong. BZZZZZ, not your turn. BZZZZ, stop talking.
- Contraction Time is admittedly a bit of a specialty app, but it’s still more than useful for expectant mothers hitting labor.
There are a few other apps, plus a collection of updated ones, waiting past the break.
New apps:
- All About Comic Book Collecting, $3.99, by AppBookShop.com. A guide to building a collection of comic books.

Leave the "appbooks" off the list, wouldja?
i second that
As soon as I saw Derek's description of the Big Red Buzzer app, all I could think of was Dave Chappelle's Wrap-It-Up box! I miss his show...
What's up with the app catalogue these days? Seems to be very slow at releasing new apps. Some dev's announced updates early in the week that still haven't shown up.
I think it's been this way all along.. I think you tend to forget that the app catalog only USED to have 3-5 new apps per day, and when the PDK update was released, there was a floodgate of apps that were waiting for approval.. Now that most carriers have 1.4.5, most of those apps have been pushed out in a hurry, and now the storm of apps has kind of settled down.. We still have a healthy amount of apps, with promise of many from Astraware, and with a new "Super Pre" (or whatever you wanna call it) coming before the holidays as well as WebOS 2.0 and an eventual tablet, I think there'll be even more apps. Just wait til that time though before you give up hope.
