App Catalog The big news as far as yesterday’s app drop wasn’t the new apps. It was the updates that put significant discounts into play on several apps.

Additionally, Sports Live! is still on sale for introductory pricing at $5.99. As you likely suspected, all of these sale prices are for a limited time only, but if you can save a few bucks here or there on a quality app, why not, right? Either way, there’s still plenty more App Catalog perusing to be done past the break.

New apps:

  • Constellations for Kids, $0.99, by XIMAD. Teach children more about the sky by learning the basic Zodiac constellations.
  • Droplets, $1.99, by XIMAD. Puzzle game where drops of dew form your playing board.
  • Funny Pics Pro, Free, by Appwill. More than 2000 of the funniest pictures around, with wallpaper and commenting support.
  • Golf The Card Game, $0.99, by MachiApps. The classic golf card game, with options for four players or a fast-paced single player arcade variant.
  • Le Scritture - LDS Scriptures, $4.99, by Appible. (Italian) Mormon scripture and study guide in Italian and English.
  • Math Flashcards for Kids, $0.99, by XIMAD. Easy-to-use number-learning flashcards.
  • Math Fun for Kids, $1.99, by XIMAD. Help teach your kids basic math skills with flashcards, practice problems, and customizable quizzes.
  • Ngaahi Folofolá - LDS Scriptures, $4.99, by Appible. (Tongan) Mormon scripture and study guide in Tongan and English.

I'm still not understanding the Sports Live app. The description doesn't tell enough. When I get the notification, can I tap on it to see stats? Is it like the mobile ESPN site where it has all games listed so I can see scores from all games? Or is it merely a $6 notification app that will probably bump to $9.99? Need more info before I buy...

Sports Live! runs purely in the dashboard area so you can check the scores of your favorite teams even when you're using other apps. You can also turn on alerts to be notified whenever the score changes or the game ends. It only shows scores (and baserunner positions for baseball). To view more info about the game, you'll see buttons that redirect you to a webpage.
