We need Netflix, Amazon Kindle and Chase banking apps but meanwhile thanks for these new apps.
I'd add Mint to that list.
Ok so there's no "Chase" app specifically...we do have Well Fargo and Bank of America so 2 of the top 3.
We have 2 Netflix queue managers (yes, no streaming yet)
And Mint? Err..we have Clear Check Book (https://www.clearcheckbook.com/) which is basically the same app.
i understand your point but the thing is if you have accounts at mint and chase your options don't help. I'm not familiar with clear check book so maybe it's accesses a mint account but doesn't look like it.
i think the bigger issue isn't the function, accessing a bank account, cause if your accounts like a 401k or your mortgage go through chase it's not like your gonna switch banks. in fact i'd bet nobody has switched banks just cause the app wasn't available. The bigger issue is these companies don't want to make an app for webos. And that situation applies to many other potential apps. Like i'd like to access my yahoo finance accounts. It doesn't matter that some other app gives me stock quotes. i think your "no streaming yet" comment kinda illustrate my point. if what you want is streaming the other options aren't good enough. For the record, I don't netflix.
As opposed to MyQ For Netflix: $3 (free in Preware) or QuickQueue for Netflix: $1.99 ???
I use MyQ and it works really well.
I think maybe he wants an official app that's lets you watch stuff on instant view.
We have "needed" them for more then a year. It's not coming cause they don't want to develop for webos. And that's a major problem. Unless HP goes out and pays them or sells them on developing their own app or there is a massive jump in userbase to give these companies incentive i firmly don't believe they are coming. No ESPN, no Mint, no yahoo fantasy, etc and there are thousands of other.
you can see it in the pattern of apps we do get. it's not major names. It's horse bowling and word quiz and stuff. It's been like that for more then a year. so far i've seen nothing to expect it will change. Hopefully for HPs sake they put the money into paying people to make the apps people really want. And not just one but a hundred of these apps cause everyone wants something different. But if you want to draw people i don't think you can attract them with these types of apps when what people have been asking for for more then a year is bigger name apps. Especially when Android, Iphone, and even Blackberry does provide many of these apps.
It's telling to me that even in that long list of updated apps, there isn't a single business, website, or brand name app that i've ever even heard of. That's just a real deterrant to the platform in my opinion. It's not about getting numbers of apps for the sake of numbers mind you. It's about the name apps that people have wanted for more then a year.

You don't need an app.
you can do that on any phone. by that rational you don't need a Pre. besides mobile websites suck ass. But again if i have to use the website i can use any phone. I don't think it's very good business to tell customers, uh you may want it but just use do something else. They need to give customers what they as for.
There was such a long gap in between news postings that I thought you guys were working on something big. Had my hopes up. Oh well, still glad to see some new apps.
ATT has a TV app - but not for Palm. USAA has apps - but not for Palm.
Comcast, Verizon, and Time Warner all do too, just not for Palm. Lots of cable companies do. I mean it's a broken record at this point.
I just wanted to let you know that I have decided to not buy any more apps until I know there is another device coming to Sprint and that that device will be freaking awesome. I am waiting until January at the latest, then I am jumping ship. Palm is being left in the dust, and I will not be left behind out of loyalty t...o a company that seems to be going no where. trust me this is not what I want.
Thanks for letting us know.
x2. Now I can rest easy.
wait i'm slightly confused. Is it a requirement that the sprint device be freaking awesome or are you predicting it will be freaking awesome? And and would it be ok if it we're were just merely wicked awesome and not freaking awesome?
