Can't wait for 11AM!!!!
I don't understand why anyone would pay for some of these apps, even a dollar. There are 200 web sites where I can calculate loan payments for free. Google translations and weather reports are free on the web, too. And doesn't the Pre have an alarm clock? Do I really need to pay for a simple timer?
All I can say is that, like Derek, I hope there's a lot more "meat" at CES.
Yes we pay for them! and We help palm Engineers if we buy them(APPS), even if PREWARE exist.
And my PRE has alarm clock, I don't know what kind of alarm clock you're talking about?
Hope PALM will kick iphone ass at CES.
I disagree. We help developers if we buy good apps - paying for garbage will only encourage more garbage.
Amen
I couldnt agree more. I'm really looking forward to CES this afternoon (2 PM ET). Palm needs to blow my mind. Need some quality apps like yesterday. I see the number of apps go up pretty much everyday, but I can see no reason to take up space on my device for MOST of these apps.
Also, Palm, if yal could show off, or at least hint towards a new device (namely new webOS Treo). I'd appreciate it. Oh yeah, throw one them Snapdragon's in that son of a b****!
can't argue with that!totally agreed!
@:Derek
I'd rather see 100 solid functional apps for $20 each, than see 1000 GUI's, www shortcuts and data sets for $1 each.
Exactly, paying for garbage = more garbage.
I want to see some quality apps here. I only purchased one app (Tweed) and my father only purchased one app (Pack n' Track).
I'm waiting on A+ Student Organizer because that is a quality app.
Hopefully we can get developers who want to develop kick ass apps rather than just boosting the app store's app number.
GOOD MORNING!!!!(MEXICAN USER)
That's cool coming with thousands of apps, but "REMEMBER";
"The QUALITY, It doesn't come with the QUANTITY"
"Better to have QUALITY apps"
I hope(wish) somebody could develop an app, that could view 3D SOLIDWORKS and ALIBRE DESIGN or in the case 3D PDF.
And you know if somebody could help me how to get involve in a palm stock market, I'll be glad to help palm.
"LET'S GO PALM YOU CAN DO IT"
dang, on my netbook in the filed under list, "Shake" is right above the word "Quotes". I thought I saw Quake for a split second :(
Quake is available in Preware...and it works quite well, too!
I know, I have it. I guess I'm saying when I saw that, I thought for a split second the hot-patched GPU support + games for the official App Catalog.
+1 on quake
yawn...
More useless apps. Has Palm brought in the $50 fee for app submission yet? The sooner the better.
When I search the catalog I can't even find some of the stuff that is supposed to be there.
It's funny how more people are starting to see the light that 95% of the apps in the catalog are garbage.
Realistically, 3% mindshare doesn't warrant much attention from most app developers. The webOS platform strategy is that making apps easier to make is the answer. This results in a lot of simple apps. The more impressive game-type stuff largely bypasses webOS which will be functional to a point.
If Palm comes up with a more powerful SDK, it will help, however, interest among larger developers has probably waned since launch since the perception is that Palm smartphone sales didn't take off as they could have.
I was one of those that b!thced and complained about the App limit, and other things, like many of you have.
But now that - that has been fixed, we are finding other things to b!tch about.
Well, today I'm going to thank Palm.
Thank you for making an awesome device! It's not yet perfect, but it's d@mn near close. And it's the best phone I've had to date! (And because of my job I've used and still support many different types) Thank you.
Thank you for fixing the App limit and making Apps readily available as quick as you did. You're a small company, but you guys are working hard and I appreciate it! Thank you!
Thank you for embracing the whole Homebrew culture! You knew your device wasn't all the way there yet, but you didn't want to hold back this awesome device from the public (and you needed the money) so you've allowed Homebrewers to get into the device and make the tweaks to make it nicer while you work on things from your end, thank you!
I know you will get the App quality situation taken care of soon; I know you are working behind the scenes with various developers, panning out deals so that we can have better Apps. Meanwhile though, I am enjoying my word games, my trivias, my puzzles and the such. Thank you for making all that possible!
Plus, the web usage on this thing is great!!! I can do so much on it through the web, that an App might not even be necessary, but any which way, Thank you!!
As far as iTunes is concerned, its one of the worst music application services out there. Even before the Pre, I bemoaned when I had to use it for my iPod. So when I got my Pre, all I ever used was WinAmp. It's excellent. I was more than happy to ditch junky iTunes and just use my Pre (with ease) as my main music player. The only thing my iPod does the most of right now is collect dust. Not that the iPod is bad, but dealing with iTunes, and being forced to do so, sucks.
Thank you Palm for listening when the public, wrote to you and plead with you to make certain changes before the Pre and after. Thank you for still listening ;-)
I've had my Pre for over 5 months now and when I was using it this morning a smile came over my face. You guys rock! Thank you!
I'll continue to be patient, cause I know more is to come and you are working hard.
People in other countries, be cool, it'll be worth the wait.
Thank you Palm and Thank you PreCentral!
I have to say, I paid for the new weather notification widget and I LOVE it!!!!
OMG if it's not something, it's another. The bitchfest continues.
