Here's what's new in the app catalog today. Our favorite of the bunch is probably Photo Effects - a free app that lets you do some light image editing on images on your device, converting them to black & white, rotating them, etc.

Quit Smoking Tracker isn't bad either, unlike those nasty cancer sticks the app is designed to help you give up.

New Apps

  • Sizzling Beauties Lite , Free, by Hammz Hotteez. Hammz Hotteezâ„ Exactly what you think it is
  • Stay Lit Flashlight , $0.99, by Casey Broome - L337Tech.com. Unlike other flashlight apps in the product catalog, Stay Lit Flashlight will always stay lit.
  • Quit Smoking Tracker , $1.99, by merkel. Quit smoking tracker allows you to track all of the following stats for quitting smoking. 
  • Playboy Covers , Free, by Paschar LLC. Playboy Covers of the 2004 to 2010 issues.
  • Photo Effects , Free, by Rusty Apps. A photo editor for your webOS phone
  • Find Jack Mini , Free, by Software for Mobile Phones LLC. Find Jack the ant under cups.
  • BitToggle , $0.99, by RCG Technologies, Inc.. English only: Toggle bits "ON" or "OFF" and BitToggle converts them to hexadecimal, octal, decimal and binary.

I confirm. I have Bubbles! (free) v1.0.2 on my phone for... a long time. This is just an update to 1.0.3

Anyone knows if there is a good dictionary app for free?

There are quite a few. Go to the App Catalog and search "dictionary" I recommend Dictionary! works great for me but you will need a data or Wi-Fi connection when in use.

Can you crop an image in photo effects?

no you can't crop,you can only rotate the pics as well as change the color to black and white, sepia. Also, you can get a negative and pixelate them. Hey, it's better than nothing. I like it.

Its great and free, hopefully the next version comes up with cropping.

You can crop on the Pre, but it is not setup very well.

Find the picture you want to crop, and start to make it your wallpaper. Then pinch/zoom until you get the image you want, and save it as your wallpaper. The go to the Internalz app, and it should be the last item listed under the /media/internal/.wallpapers folder.

Hopefully some one works up a better option.

PhotoEffects uses Data connection too. Not great if you have no signal or roaming etc.

I think cropping has been left out cos you can zoom and take a snapshot.

What? How can you zoom and take a snapshot? (thus making cropping unnecessary?).

Question: Is there finally a homebrew app that will add a stamp date to pictures you take?
