New in the App Catalog

One of the advantages of the first-come first-reviewed process used by Palm’s App Catalog team is that all apps are created equal. One of the disadvantages is that one developer can dump a dozen apps into the hopper at once, and with no regard to their quality those apps must be processed before the others in line. That’s you, AppBookShop. Regardless, some other apps managed to sneak in amongst the mess of niche eBook guides:

  • AHRQ ePSS (Free from Electronic Preventive Services Selector) is for the doctorly crowd: it helps with patient screening to determine appropriate care procedures for whatever it is that they might have.
  • Blackjack Solitaire (Free from DS Effects) is sort of a combination of Blackjack and Sudoku: your goal is to create the best Blackjack hand in each row, column, and diagonal.

There are more apps, and a whole slew of updates, after the break.

New apps:

  • A Guide For Satellite Radio, $3.99, by AppBookShop. What you need to know about satellite radio.
  • A Guide For Seattle, $3.99, by AppBookShop. A visitor’s guide to Seattle, Washington.
  • A Self-Help Reference Guide, $3.99, by AppBookShop. A guide to getting through the miseries of life.
  • AHRQ ePSS, Free, by Electronic Preventive Services Selector. Use screening to determine the appropriate care for your patients.
  • Blackjack Solitaire, Free, by DS Effects. Place the card on the left by clicking on an empty box and try to create the best blackjack hands in each row, column and diagonal.
  • Blozzle, Free, by DS Effects. Create a match with three or more blocks of the same type to earn time and level. You can only remove blocks which are connected vertically or horizontally. Thu, 11 Nov
  • Get The Most From Your Ski Vacations, $3.99, by AppBookShop. A guide to making sure you get, well, the most from your ski vacation.
  • Get To Know San Fransisco, $3.99, by AppBookShop. For those who live and those who visit: San Francisco.
  • Get To Know Show Business, $3.99, by AppBookShop. What you need to know to break into show business (it’s like no business I know).
  • Learn All About San Diego, $3.99, by AppBookShop. A visitor’s guide to the city of San Diego.
  • Learning About Your Sleeping Baby, $3.99, by AppBookShop. A new parent’s guide to the sleeping baby.

  • Same Pets, Free, by DS Effects. Match and remove as many pets as possible from the board.
  • Skincare Reference Manual, $3.99, by AppBookShop. A personal guide to caring for your epidermis.
  • Snowboarding Guide, $3.99, by AppBookShop. A beginner’s guide to the sport of snowboarding.
  • The Snowmobiling Manual, $3.99, by AppBookShop. What you need to know about snowmobiling.

Lucky you! I only have 1.3.5...so I would like 1.3.6 (is there anything new?) but for some reason there is no option to upgrade. Why? Update apps doesn't do it either.

Yea that was a short lived excitement. No update yet

AppBookShop. A beginner

There, see, we can get medical apps too.

Anyone else having a hard time downloading things from the App Catalog today?

if anyone knows someone that works for appbookshop call them the doucher that they are and give them a cunt punch plz.

lightbulb!!! Anyone know appbookshops email address? We should all send a ton of spam mail to them to make up for all the spam In the app catalog since hpalm won't stop them.

I really wish HP/Palm still had a fee for submission of paid apps to the catalog. The fee should be 50 times the app price... so you need 50 purchases to break even. That would stop crapp spammers, but wouldn't affect legit apps at all. Sure, the app total would be lower, but no one would miss the lost crapps.

I welcome ABS, BSL, and the rest with open arms, why you say? I'll tell you...

First, they are a multi-platform dev and are including Palm.

Second, the populace only care about total numbers. They say, "Apple has the most apps" and buy with that in mind despite that they will only buy *40 apps* total.

So upping the number is just fine.

yet another crap app drop. Dev's don't care about webos anymore. And why should they?

That's the spirit!
