New in the App Catalog for 13 January 2010 24

One thousand one hundred eleven. Eleven eleven. Eleventy eleventeen. Or just 1,111. That’s just a wacky number to roll out of bed and see. But that’s how many apps there are in the Palm App Catalog right now, at least on the Palm Pre on Sprint - no saying how many you’ll find in other locales (except that it is depressingly less). Hopefully that’ll change sooner than later, but in the meantime we do have one thousand one hundred eleven apps to peruse, with the newest all listed after the break.
New apps:

Hey Derek, I know how you like the grammar and spelling lessons sometimes received here, so thought I would help out:
"no saying how many you
Jdod, the phrase is correct - a shortening of the phrase "there is no saying ..."
though if we are going to be picky on grammar; It should be 'depressingly fewer' rather than 'depressingly less'
Should "no" be "not"?
No telling? I don't think he's not telling.... he would if he could, but he can't.
Hmm....now I'm confused.
LOL benny the boulder!!
I just noticed Outline Tracker, looks like a decent app, but $23.50, quite a lot for an app.
I have NO problem forking over this kind of cash for an app that delivers a high level of functionality. I bought plenty of WinMo apps that cost this much or more. However, every one of those WinMo apps had a demo. I will NOT fork over this kind of cash without a demo. Hope they get a trial version out there soon!
EXACTLY!
I'd be willing to pay the price for this app, if it truly provides the fucntionality, but without a demo there's no way I'm going to shell out that much. Almost every app for the P-OS has either a time limited demo or a feature limited demo. That functionality seems to be missing from the app catalog model.
sweet! an app that lets me see what homes are for sale around where I am...
This is great if all the MLS listings actually feed correctly
I wanted a program like this ever since I saw NearBuy on my friends Iphone. I'm disappointed to report that this program absolutely sucks. If you do an advanced search it generally works but if you do a "find closest homes" it either cannot connect to the server or finds no results. Thank god its free because it wouldn't be worth ten cents since its most attractive feature - the ability to search for listings based on your location, is horribly broken. Very disappointing. I guess you get what you pay for.
androo,
Hi, I'm the developer responsible for Real Estate. I'm definitely concerned that you were having problems with the GPS Search. Could you give me more details (around when were you searching, and what area you were at) so I can dig through the logs and try to recreate.
We don't have full MLS coverages in *all* areas, but we're getting new feeds and sources on an almost weekly basis.
Feel free to email me - kevin.m at smarteragent.com - I'd love to get more feedback and figure out what might have gone wrong.
That Outline Tracker program looks great! It's too much though without a demo, and maybe even with a demo.
I don't like how the what's for dinner? app turns into a lite version after the update.
Could new app catalog updates have a link to each app?
Eventually. We're waiting for the App Catalog feeds to become fully real-time, right now they run behind by at least a day.
I was just going to ask the same thing. I wanted to check out News Feed from the App Gallery and nowhere to be found. Now I know why. =)
I would like to see a category for Updated Apps in the App Catalog. Or at least a way to sort by Updated. That would be very handy. BTW, I LOVE my Pre. I finally have a smart phone that I actually use and enjoy using.
Just hit the "recent" button...
You are missing some apps on this list.
Yes, a free version of Outline Tracker is in the works -- it will be limited to 50 items. Otherwise, the functionality will be the same.
Glad to hear it!
AND WHY CANT WE BUY APPS IN EUROPE????
Hellloooo? Anybody out there at Palm who wants to make money? We have credit cards too you know.
Dont get me wrong, I love my pre and I have installed quite some apps on it, but only the free ones because Palm wont give me access to payable apps (switzerland, unlocked palm pre gsm)
What a business model!!!!
Has anyone used Speed Dial Pro? I'm looking for something that loads faster than Quick Contacts.
The dual lists also would be quite useful to me as well
I'm having all sorts of problems with the apps catalog. It won't come up and hasn't for the last few days. All I get is "The action could not be completed. Try again later.". I would think after several days the thing would have started working again. What's the deal?!
