I wish they would bring out Yahoo and MSN chat for the Pre

I think that's coming eventually (not sure).

Agreed, would love Yahoo messenger.

Agreed.

It does not even have to be the "synergy" to make me happy

Bring on the tethering, flickr, and office doc editing!

I would be so happy with pidgin... Also it will be interesting to see if palm allows 3rd party browsers.

Can anyone tell me how do you port over your ringtones in itunes over to the Pre? I'm using Missing Sync and it's not porting over the ringtones.

I want to know where are all the apps they have been talking about. Over the past six months all I heard was so easy to develop for and programmers love it. And only 30 Apps a week later. And with so many things that could be updated on the phone only update I have seen is to minor apps. Palm has to figure that they did a good job of build up excitement but with 100,000 sold let work on happy customers who have more to brag about to get that next 100k

Like you said, it's only been a week. This is their first true full-scale testing of the App Catalog (which I'm sure you've noticed is still in "beta") and the only thing in there thus far a free apps. I'm sure they're working on some sort of payment system, and once that hits, the floodgates will undoubtedly open.

Now is this "None, Lame, I know" app any good? Is it one app or 3 different ones. For some reason I can't find it on my App Catalog. ;-)

It's a horrible app. I tried downloading it and nothing happened!

I can't wait for msn messenger and yahoo app. Plus they really need to fix that bug in aim that drains the battery.

Curious how few app downloads there are according to the download app counters. Most is in the high 60,000's for Pandora and Accuweather... For the reported number of Pre's sold and with Apps free right now, you would expect more downloads. Curious...

Incidentally, Palm seems to be slow to respond to developer requests at the moment - if you're not in the trusted few, you can't get the SDK.

I would expect apps to continue to trickle in until they open the partner / developer program up a bit.
