by Dieter Bohn Thu, 13 May 2010 2:29 pm EDT

What's new in webOS apps today? Here's what:

  • Our favorite word processor for webOS, Scratch Word Processor, got a re-submit (did you know it works with Google Docs?)
  • Those of you who use VLC for video on your desktop will want to grab the update for VLC Remote
  • Those of you who like getting up off the couch should check out update to JogStats, which now has customizable lap/split lengths. As long as we're talking sports, Sports Reference will keep the nerdier among us from embarrassing themselves whilst hanging out with the regular people - get all the details on the rules for various sports.

I Guess I need to check Scratch Word Processor application out.

Yes Scratch Word Processor is great! I've had it for several weeks and love it. It works great importing and exporting to Google Docs. Thanks Dieter for cranking these out in Derek's absense! :)

I agree, in fact may I say GO [get] SCRATCH YOURSELF! Funny, I thought I just upgraded Scratch...the developer is very responsive.

I miss Derek's funny and subtle lines when doing the daily app update. It was entertaining every morning.

I don't know what I'd do without PreCentral's 'New to the App Catalog' posts. You keep me from giving up on the app catalog.

It's the opposite for me. I'd rather have a "Top 10 Apps" each week instead of daily info on what's new, since most apps each day really aren't that great.

Precentral is great for news but I check out this site also which reviews apps and has comparison reviews.

Deiter, Thanks SOOOOOO much for changing the format of the App Drop Post. Derek's a great writer and all, and I don't if SPE pays it's writer's based on how many clicks their posts get past the break, but seriously, I can't stand having my RSS reader get those first paragraphs of useless drivel without a hint to guide me onto whether I might want to read further or not. Please encourage Derek to adopt this new format, please. Thanks.
