New in the App Catalog for 18 June 2010 15

App Catalog So there’s this big 50% off sale going on right now in the App Catalog, which is straight up awesome. Sadly, our fun little App Catalog viewer doesn’t seem to be registering the price cuts, so just keep in mind when viewing these apps that the price you’ll pay (in the United States, at least) is half of what you’re reading. In other news, AppBookShop, we do appreciate all the newness you’re injecting, and the fact that it’s not all public domain books, but twenty-three guides to this and tips for that in one day? Sheesh. Regardless, there’s other new stuff to be seen:

  • Crop Rotate Go! lets you easily rotate and crop your pictures right on your phone.
  • Virtual Vuvuzela: *whhhhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooo*
  • On Sale tells you what’s on sale in the App Catalog, which right now is everything!

Oh, and Brighthouse Labs, we see what you did there. “Updating” all of your apps so they jump up in the recent list to take advantage of the half-off sale? That’s not cool. Everything, after the break, as per usual.

the on sale app only lists a fraction of what is in the app catalog. what's up with that.

I want to know if the high $$$$ apps are also on sale. Like Chapura Pocketmirror. does anyone know if it is half price after the 7 day free trial?

If I had to guess, I'd say it lists only apps that have been put on sale by the developer, not Palm's sale.

If Palm doesn't sell the app, it won't be on sale for 50% off. Contact Chapura and you will see that is the case.

Suck it Brighthouse Labs!

brighthouse are cutting their own throats, after their stunt yesterday I got the hide a vendor patch. If they do eventually get something worthwhil I won't be able to see it an that's their loss. The sale however isn't by the vendors, it's by palm and they were reimbursing the vendors from what I read.

The return on BHL's!

I emailed AOL Inc today because their Engadget app is still no go for webOS for like a week already. Although they cover mostly Apple and Android news I always 'tip' them with webOS goodness to show us love.

Brighthouse needs to quit already...or at least stop saturating the App Catelog w/ sh*t.

Go H/Palm =)

engadget app is broken
Precentral site is broken

please fix it

I agree, I am so tired of seeing the BRIGHTHOUSE LABS apps. They are some of the most useless apps ever, just to make a quick buck. I wish palm would ban that app spamming company.

3 words... Brighthouse FU3K!NG LABS!

Yep, only with palm would crap like this happen. Makes me hate this phone so much. Its shit hardware, its shit apps, its tiny screen. Its shit web browser that freezes up all the time, I pretty much hate everything about this phone, and makes me regret ever dropping $199 for this POS!

umm... excuse me, but I don't care...

Oh boy! I can finally crop photos at a bargain price of 1.99!!!
...
It's still not actual cropping since you save by taking a picture, killing your 3mp resolution.

So..WebOS 2.0 on July 31st,right?

I find it hard to get mad at brighthouse. I've complained about them since they came out. But Palm chose not to prevent this. Users cried, "But we're open. we don't ban people like Apple." Tell that to the guy making that media player that i don't think ever got released. Bubble or something was his name. But that's a side issue. Anyways, Palm set up their app catalog like this. They could could have had separate sections for "new" and for "recently updated" so doing this wouldn't bury truly new apps so people miss them. But to me the users and palm wanted it just like this and its occasionally gonna bite them in the ass when companies decide to keep updating apps.

app flood gates still closed
