App Catalog If you’re in the mood for apps, then you’ve come to the right place. By way of repeated introduction, this is New in the App Catalog, where we, well, cover what’s new in the App Catalog. Here are some highlights of the newness:

  • EVAC is a new take on Pac-Mac, bringing modern games and actions to the classic. It’s also launching first on webOS, hitting before the game is available on iOS and Android.
  • Frat Pack, unlike most soundboards with 15-20 clips, comes with 350 clips from the likes of Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, and Steve Carrell.

After the break we look at everything new in the past day, and everything else that was updated. It’s beyond awesome. Okay, so I might be building it up a bit, but apps are cool regardless, so click on past the break to check them out.

New apps:

  • Babel, Free, by DS Effects. Build the tallest tower by dropping block from the top of the screen.

Still looking for that really good app. It does not have to be a great app anymore, I would settle for good.

"HPalm" please disable the geo filter for Denmark. I can't buy any apps at all, only some of the free is possible to download.

They're more than likely not going to be on here looking for customer support requests like yours...

Yeah, I'm with you. It feels like forever since a webOS app came out that truly excited me.

i think it's been forever since there's been an app that interested me let alone excited me. To me it's not developer support in a broad sense it's company support. Companies are generally not making webos apps for their businesses. So all you get is the no name apps.

Can someone please explain the (apparently irresistible) appeal of "soundboards"?

And, yeah, the dearth of decent apps for webOS is seriously disheartening. If webOS 2.0 doesn't change that, I don't think even HP's financial might is going to get webOS where it otherwise deserves to be.

2.0 is giving developers access to the mic and camera if I am not mistaking. So that will bring, in my opinion, voice apps and other good stuff that we didnt have before. I think it would be cool to have a patch for camera zoom by the way. Also, Im sure developers are waiting for 2.0 to be released before releasing their apps. Be patient.

That really could bring some exciting apps. I'd love to have some camera apps like Hipstamatic and definitely more music apps.

I think right now, companies are probably wondering why they would need to bother with webOS when stores like Best Buy and Radio Shack aren't even carrying webOS devices. Hopefully this will change when HP starts putting out more devices than just printers and the Pre 2.

Anyone tried out the Wiki Search? Wikipedia's mobile version works great (and is integrated with "Just Type"), so what's my motivation for getting Wiki Search?
