App Catalog is now available for European/GMS users

NOW?.... i have it long time ago... for now with 117 free Apps and 0 Pay-Apps

Germany

app spam feast in the catalog

All these app articles are becoming a ''carrot in front of the donkey'' tease for us Europeans. I only see 181 app no paid obviously :(, i hope this new patch 1.3.5 sorts all this out.

871 apps/ 4 worth anything. Pathetic...

There's a bit more than 4, but I know what you mean.

There's like 5 category of apps

1) Apps that are good and you'll probably use them a lot. There's very few in this category. I'd estimate like 5-10.

2) Apps that are good, but only get used very occasionally. There's a few in this category too. I'd say 5-10 too.

3) Apps that aren't terrible, but after playing with them for like 15 minutes, you'll probably never use them again.

4) Apps that are just considered bad. There's actually not that many of these because most "bad" apps fit better under the next category.

5) Apps that are obvious "cash grabs". I'd say this makes up the biggest category by far. These can be decent or terrible, but the key defining feature is they're "cash grabs". This is basically junk put out there to hopefully make quick money from suckers. You can tell which these are by a few key defining features.

a) There's like a bunch of similar apps from the same developer. Europa, Brighthouse (the king of this), Dijit are some of the devs guilty of this. A lot of the "prolific" app makers make so many apps because it's easy. You make one app. Change it a little, sell it as a new app, change it a little, sell it as a new app, etc.

b) if they barely work but cost money (that's why people need to check the reviews first). i see a lot of reviews saying "i should've read the reviews first. this app barely even works, i want my money back."

c) if they're totally unnecessary and cost money (ie the "percent" app costs you a buck and it just does a single multiplication you can do on the calculator on your phone).

So yeah in the end (pulling numbers out of my ass), there's like up to 20 good apps, like 50 "ok" apps, and the other 800? Meh.

i don't think of it that way. I think the categories are:

1. stuff i want, (and may use often or just a few times) i got about 7
2. stuff that's not worth paying for. no idea how many since i don't exactly dwell on these.
3. stuff i have no interest in ever. The 800+

Now the problem is the only thing of any value to me is #1 and of those 7 i barely use them. which is fine but. 800+ or whatever number remaining of garbage is just that garbage.

Yep. Truly lame.

ho, ho humbug! Happy Festivus! ...for the rest of us!

"We shall begin with the airing of the grievances".... ;-)

I gotta lot of problems with you people and now I'm gonna tell you about it, hahaha.

I want to do the feast of honor....

All of thoes apps were there when I checked yesterday I dont know what time they were posted but I saw them around 10:45pm EST.

New apps added. Sitting at 882 now.

Tilt GT is actually quite good.

An ad supported version of spin the bottle? Who needs a spin the bottle app at all, much less one that makes you sit through ads first. Geez, this just epitomizes the sad state of apps for the Pre.

MISSING APPS?

There is at least one missing app as of Dec 24th.
Any search for The Missing Sync, turns up nothing.

Is this an issue with the App Catalog?

update

It appears to be a problem with the App Catalog's search feature.
I verified that The Missing Sync is in the catalog by scrolling through all the apps until I saw it.

But searching for "The missing sync", "missing", "sync", "Mark/Space" doesn't return The Missing Sync

still at 118 apps and Palm keeping on filling the app catalog with 99 cent percentage calculators. 5 more days and my pre will either become a decent phone or accidentily drown in a nearby river to be replaced with a droid after that. Which is it gonna be Palm?

All right. Mine fall into the sea. Webos is no accurate, Phone apps are insufficient and no basic features on it. Battery life is obsolete. Are Palm's boss crazy? Europe have only 118 babage apps on app catalog, bad is the pre apps are obsoletes apps. One week and my pre will be on the sea.
