App Catalog I know what you’re all thinking: OMG 1.4! Either that’s elation over the fact that you’re on Sprint, O2, or Movistar and have webOS 1.4 up and running on your device right now; or it’s frustration that you’re not and don’t. Rest assured, 1.4 will be coming to everybody soon enough - we don’t know what they hold-up is for folks on Bell, Telcel, or Verizon, but we have no reason to believe you’re going to be waiting weeks on end. While you’re waiting, we do have new apps to check out, and none of this needs 1.4 for you to get your jollies on. Especially Guitar Hero 5. Check it all out after yonder break.

  • Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra Quotes, $1.99, by Brighthouse Labs: Quotes from the author of the novel Don Quixote.

Giutar Hero? Cool :)
Bring on paid apps in the UK!

Whilst we might not yet have paid apps in the uk, since the 1.4 update, there are a number of new apps have appeared, for example, sims, monopoly. Taster of things to come hopefully.

ummt he apps went from 400 to 200 int he UK with 1.4 :(

I don't know for sure but I assume the App Catalog sees that you have 1.4 and is only showig compatible apps. Maybe the 200 that disappeared aren't updated yet to 1.4 and when they are they re-emerge from the ether.

Pre-central hosts (DB, DK, et al) any word on this?

Who's with me on creating a quotes app that just compiles all the Brighthouse Labs quote apps into one? I'm guessing all the Brighthouse quotes are public domain so it could easily be offered free -- the only cost might be buying all the Brighthouse Labs quote apps (not an insignificant number) for their quote lists and of course the application fee to palm. I'm sure we could find some donations. I'm afraid that the only way to beat 'em in this case might be to join 'em.

I love their "Karl Marx" quotes.

So what you meant to say instead of
"... Bell, Telcel, or Verizon, but we have no reason to believe you

Yeah, I think it's disgusting that with Bell being Canada's largest Telecommunications company, they can't even spare some resources to support one of the best phones on their network. What happens when Bell gives up on the Pre entirely? Will we have to flounder without any native TV, GPS, MP3 etc. apps, and no paid apps to speak of?

At least I was able to get Sprint Navigation on my Bell Pre, otherwise I'd have even more reason to resent Bell.

In the UK I have 406 apps and love the games for free ;-)))

Just got my unlocked Pre today from ebay, from an iphone is a bit strange at first but love Web OS !!!

Now that the mic is "live", (it recorded sound for the 1st. video I recorded.), bring on Shazam, and a memo/call recorder. (CallRec for PalmOS, would be great!)

...then I can finally make "voice tags" to use as ring tones for important contacts - ...voila!
a poor mans talking caller id.

Why would someone pay for craigslist. i mean one is 1.99 the other 2.99 why not a free one. Am I missing something here?

Can we petition to ban Brighthouse? I would rather they fail miserably on their own but it seems they are still making money somehow, enough to keep paying to develop utter crap. Who here keeps buying their apps?? I blame iPhone users, but at least we don't have the thousands of crap apps they have (for now).

What, no Flash (beta)? Why was I expecting that?

Flash will be coming in the catalogue I think... 1st half of 2010...
hopefully that doesn't mean the last day of June.
D2G & a BT external keyboard maybe?
Being one of those dispicable Moms (no lets be Honest... Grandma of 9) I need these!
